How Successful People Grow

How Successful People Grow

My husband is an avid reader. He loves reading business, finance, and personal growth books. Not to mention the marriage, family and parenting books he also reads. I am blessed like that. I know. He has read books from John C. Maxwell before so when the opportunity arose to review How Successful People Grow, I jumped at it. One more great book to add to our library. He wasn't disappointed. About How Successful People Grow Are there tried and true principles that are always certain to help a … [Read more...]

Raising A Princess: 8 Essential Virtues I Want to Teach Her

As I am typing this book review, my kids are watching Frozen for the millionth time. Really. My daughter is six years old and raising her is difficult. Parenting is hard, right? Especially in this day and age. It seems like everything is either over-sexualized in society or full of spiritualism (witches, magic, death, etc...). As a Christian mother I find the line difficult to draw. Honestly, I have really cracked down on the entertainment she is exposed to. When girls are continually shown … [Read more...]

1st Grade Bedtime Routine

We are in a short break between homeschool Kindergarten and 1st grade. Our school year went quite well. There were many hard days, but my daughter told me she still wants to be homeschooled. She does get lonely at times, so I have to make frequent play dates for her. This school year she is going to play soccer with our town's league and I've joined a homeschool co-op. I can't wait to share more about that. Do your kids have a specific bedtime? Even though we homeschool (and can get up and … [Read more...]

One Nation by Ben Carson

I don't get into politics on the blog or on social media and I don't intend to now. I am a conservative Christian, but being a minority women, I am more liberal socially. I wanted to share a little about Ben Carson's newest book, One Nation. In it he nicely explains what is going on in our country and some great ideas on how he'd change those things. I've read his biography and seen the movie based on his life and I believe he has good intentions. Though I might not agree with all his ideas I do … [Read more...]
