1st Grade Bedtime Routine

1st Grade Bedtime Routine

We are in a short break between homeschool Kindergarten and 1st grade. Our school year went quite well. There were many hard days, but my daughter told me she still wants to be homeschooled. She does get lonely at times, so I have to make frequent play dates for her. This school year she is going to play soccer with our town’s league and I’ve joined a homeschool co-op. I can’t wait to share more about that.

Do your kids have a specific bedtime?

Even though we homeschool (and can get up and start school anytime we want) we still have a strict bedtime routine for my Princess. This time of year in Washington state when the sun goes down late my Princess fights her bedtime more than other times during the year. But we still stick to it.

Her bedtime is 9:00 pm right now. She usually ends up in bed by 8:30 and gets to watch one of her favorite DVDs for 30 minutes quietly while her brother is asleep on the bottom bunk. But before she climbs in bed her routine includes:

  • Shower
  • Pajamas
  • Teeth Brushing
  • Bedtime Devotional

What does your child’s bedtime routine include?

I don’t know why I didn’t realize this before (or maybe I did and don’t remember) but your daughter is the same age as my son! He started 1st grade this year too (except he currently goes to public school). How fun!!

It goes by so fast, doesn’t it, Leila? I just finished organizing my 1st grade materials and planned week 1. Whew! It only took an hour though. 🙂
