Our Nathanael is such a great sleeper -at night. I am thankful for that. Right after we brought him home from the hospital, he slept so well. I had to wake him up after 4 hours to feed him - and he fell right back asleep. I feel so blessed, because those of you who have followed my blog for a while, know that we have had sleep issues with our Princess. In the day time? Nathanael is not that great of a sleeper. In fact, he has a hard time sleeping in the daytime. He gets fussy, because he is … [Read more...]
Big Girl Bed
sourceI have a BIG announcement. My Princess is not in my bed any longer. After close to 4 years of co-sleeping. I am done.I want her in her own bed.We tried to keep her in her own room, alone. That did not work. She slept on her own for four hours, but once she woke up and realized she was alone, the tears came.My husband ended up going in there and sleeping next to her.So I decided to bring a bed in our room.We travel so much, I realized it would be unreasonable for her to sleep alone. When we … [Read more...]
Sick and A Little Tired
I have not been bragging the last two weeks like I should have been. I mean, when we decided to put the Princess on the floor beside us when we moved here, I didn’t shout it from the roof tops. I should have though. I realize that now. I guess, I didn’t want to jinx it. So this week, I got sick. The hubster picked up a bug at the State Fair. He was sick for almost a week. (Now, who goes to a State Fair sick and spreads their germs around? I’d like to have a nice talk with that person!) So … [Read more...]
Crying for Daddy
London 2009I was shocked when my Princess was able to stay a whole night with Grandpa and Grandma. A little sad, but happy, VERY HAPPY. We picked Saturday night as the night for sleep overs. So, a couple Saturdays ago, when I started packing up my things to head home, I was surprised when at the last moment my Princess decided to come home with me.I asked her on the way home why she didn't want to stay with Papa and Nana, she said, "Daddy not home." She is so sweet; she did not want me to be … [Read more...]
First Sleep Over
The Princess with Grandpa and Grandma in May 2009Grandma and Grandpa had our Princess Saturday afternoon. She did NOT want mommy and daddy at all that day. So when it was time to come home we were not surprised that she wanted to stay with them. I was hesitant though, because I was tired, and I felt like she was going to cry for me at 11pm and I didn't want to be woken up.She has never stayed the night with the grandparents. She has not even slept a whole night in their bed when they slept over. … [Read more...]
Sleeping Problems
In February, my Princess napped with daddy and went to bed at night with daddy. It felt so free. For 2 years, I was the one who had to lay her down since I had the breast milk. It was such a nice break. Peace. Tranquility. Blogs. Chick Movies. Books. I LOVED those few hours at night after they went to bed. Then in March something happened - a mommy phase. I guess that is what I will call it. Now, she only will sleep if I am next to her. At first it was cute, but not for long. Now it is just … [Read more...]
Co-Sleeping with a Fish
So our Princess has been sleeping in our bed since she was born. In many ways we have enjoyed the closeness that comes along with sleeping together as a family. But lately...She flops like a fish!I mean, really flops around. I slept terrible last night. Finally at about 5 am I said to her in a clear voice, "Please snuggle daddy." She listened. When we got up this morning, daddy said, "I had no room this morning." (He didn't know I made her sleep next him.) He had to hold on to the bed frame to … [Read more...]
