I was shocked when my Princess was able to stay a whole night with Grandpa and Grandma. A little sad, but happy, VERY HAPPY. We picked Saturday night as the night for sleep overs. So, a couple Saturdays ago, when I started packing up my things to head home, I was surprised when at the last moment my Princess decided to come home with me.
I asked her on the way home why she didn’t want to stay with Papa and Nana, she said, “Daddy not home.” She is so sweet; she did not want me to be alone. When she said it, her little lower lip started to quiver, her beautiful eyes began to get watery. Within minutes of arriving back home, she started talking about daddy being gone again. This time, she did cry, HARD. I don’t know if I have mentioned this or not, but she does not cry very often. So when she cries hard, we notice.
I held her close to me and we prayed soon after for daddy and for us being home alone. (Daddy spent 10 days in London without us this year.) I asked Jesus to put angels all around our house and my Princess really liked that. After the prayer was said, she looked up at me and said, “Angels all around me?”, while making a circle with her finger. It was so cute. So now every night since, we have been praying for angels to be around our house.
I thought that hearing daddy’s voice might help so I played a voice mail from a previous day. No, it backfired on me. She cried again, even harder. When I told daddy about her missing him, it made him feel very good inside. Especially since he missed us so much.
