Co-Sleeping with a Fish

So our Princess has been sleeping in our bed since she was born. In many ways we have enjoyed the closeness that comes along with sleeping together as a family. But lately…

She flops like a fish!

I mean, really flops around. I slept terrible last night. Finally at about 5 am I said to her in a clear voice, “Please snuggle daddy.” She listened. When we got up this morning, daddy said, “I had no room this morning.” (He didn’t know I made her sleep next him.) He had to hold on to the bed frame to keep from falling off the mattress. Some mornings I have to put my outside arm into my pajama waistband to keep it up on the mattress!

Last night, before bed, I was talking to my friend about it, and she said we’d miss it when she became more independent. I don’t know though. Our own bed sounds very nice right about now. Plus, you should see her room. We made it as appealing as we could for her. Now, we just need to convince her to sleep in it. Hmmm…
