This is a sponsored post with Visit Seattle. All opinions are mine alone. Our family has missed out on multiple travels this year in the pandemic. We are willing to postpone our travels and change plans to keep our family and community safe, of course. But, we really wanted to the end the year with a local staycation. A quick getaway, locally, where we could distance and mask, but still support our local Washington economy. A weekend plan to visit Seattle was exactly what we … [Read more...]
Visit Mount Rainier with Kids for the Day
It always amazing me how many great attractions and sights that I have not been to in my own state. I grew up here in Washington and there is still so much that I haven't experienced. It is exciting to be able to experience them now with my own family. To see these places with not only my eyes, but in the eyes of my kids. An active volcano, Mount Rainier is the most glaciated peak in the contiguous U.S.A., spawning five major rivers. It's truly a must see place -- and a National Park to cross … [Read more...]

Have Fun in the Sand with New Playmobil Beach Toys!
Our family loves visiting the beach in our community, Martha's Beach. Since it's right here in our community, it's close enough to walk our dog Max down to. He'll play well with or without sand toys. But, he'll play longer when he has a beach toy. Our general beach essentials include: … [Read more...]

This is a sponsored post with Nature Valley. All opinions are mine alone. I love safe places to take my kids walking. Places where I don't have to worry about cars is kind of essential right now. I try not to be too much of a helicopter parent, but I know that my son especially doesn't pay attention as well as he should when dealing with traffic. The Skagit Riverwalk in Mount Vernon is one of those great walks to take the kids on. Not only will they get exercise with mom, but they … [Read more...]
Our Seattle Seahawks Party: A Family Celebration
Many of you know that my grandfather had a stroke this past month. It was unexpected, and thankfully, he was in and out of the hospital in a week. He came home last Friday, so as an extended family, we celebrated his recovery with a family luncheon during the Seattle Seahawks game. About 30 family members came for a salmon barbecue luncheon and of course football! To make this family celebration even more special, I decorated my parents home with Seahawks party supplies. Did you know that … [Read more...]
