Natural Childbirth: The Birth Story of Our First Child, Isabella

November 3, 2011 By LaVonne

As we are preparing and enduring the first trimesterof our second child, I am brought back to memories of the birth of our first child - My Princess, Isabella. From the start of my first pregnancy I knew that I wanted to have a Certified Nurse Midwife. After visiting a few local hospitals, and talking to others about midwives they used,  I was convinced that I wanted to have my first child at a local Birth Center. Some of my friends used a midwife that came into their home and they had the … [Read more...]

Morning Sickness

October 28, 2011 By LaVonne

source I have been struggling for the last few weeks with morning sickness - all day! During my first pregnancy, I did great. I had a very smooth pregnancy. Didn't throw up once. This pregnancy? Miserable, so far! So imagine my surprise when I forgot to take my prenatal vitamin yesterday and I felt like a million bucks? I have been complaining to my husband (this must be his fault, right?) about feeling sick, feeling depressed, and basically not feeling like myself. So … [Read more...]

What To Do With Flax Seed Meal

May 22, 2011 By LaVonne

Have you been using Flax Seed Meal? We like to sneak in Flax Seeds into our foods. Not only is it high in omega-3 fats but it is also high in fiber. Just two tablespoons of flax seed is 4 grams of fiber! One serving of flax seed contains 2400 mgs of omega-3—a great source of this plant based healthy alpha-linolenic acid. Ear Infection

February 25, 2011 By LaVonne

Well, after the hubby was so sick with the flu, the Princess did get it. It was not bad though, so we thought she lucked out. Not so. Last weekend she got more sick than before. A terrible cough, slight fever and lots of congestion. Not fun at all and worse at night. I was thankful for a long weekend visit from my parents. They were a big help. I actually went to church with my husband and listened to the entire sermon! (Thanks, Dad and Mom.) But, when my Princess told me Monday that her ear … [Read more...]
