My Princess got a canker sore this last week. She was miserable. It was her first one. Those small little owies can be painful. I wish I could have taken it for her. Don't you just hate when your children are in pain? I read that if a parent suffers with canker sores the child has a 90% chance of getting canker sores as well. Since my husband and I both have suffered from canker sores, I figured this must be the reason she got one. We found some mouth wash that is specifically designed … [Read more...]
Speech Delays
It is that time again for a Mommy Mindset discussion. This week we are talking about speech delays and our children. Lena: My kids are not early talkers and I get that each kid goes at his own speed. However, I cannot help myself - I compare my kids to other kids. My friend's 2 yo daughter speaks almost as good as my 4 yo, and my 2.5 yo boy finally started pointing instead of screaming when he wants something. Gena: Lena, do you speak more than one language at home? I've heard that can delay … [Read more...]
Do You Like Tomatoes?
This week I reviewed the CopyKids Eat Fruits and Vegetables DVD, and my daughter watched other children eating tomatoes. This really had an effect on her. We made bean burritos for lunch this week, and while I was cutting up tomatoes, my Princess asked to eat a piece plain! Now, she loves pico de gallo salsa that is chock full of tomatoes. She also likes tomatoes on her Subway sandwiches and veggie burgers, but she has never eaten a tomato alone. I gave her a small piece and she LOVED it! In … [Read more...]

After a rough night this week, due to eating Flaming Hot Cheetos, {*blush*}, I decided I needed to start paying attention more closely to what I was eating. Here's the thing, I don't actually buy chips very often, but I just had this huge craving for Flaming Hot Cheetos … [Read more...]
Stage 2 Brain Tumor
While we are trying to finish last minute shopping today for Christmas (yes, we are that family who waits way too long!), I wanted to give everyone an update on our family. I mentioned before that my sister-in-law had a seizure Sunday before Thanksgiving which led to a CT and MRI that showed a brain tumor. After a long month of doctors, tests, medication and sleepless nights, she has been able to get it removed. The doctor (a very good doctor at UCLA) removed 90% of it and after pathology … [Read more...]
Thanksgiving Praise
I have been pretty absent from my computer, this blog, and social media for a few days now. On Sunday morning were received a phone call that my sister in-law had a seizure and after a catscan they found a brain tumor. We rushed around, packed up, purchased airplane tickets, and headed to Southern California that night. On Monday morning, we received terrible news that one neurologist thought the tumor was one that would result in only 1-2 years left of life. We were devastated. But we … [Read more...]
