This week we are at our church camp meeting. We are staying in our RV trailer for a week and actually having a lot of fun with the other campers from churches around Washington state. My Princess has a Kindergarten class happening three times per day all week. She LOVES it! When you get to send your child to class three times per day, that makes parenting a lot easier for the week! Parenting can be stressful, can't it? I stopped by her class 5 minutes early to spy on her. They were finishing … [Read more...]
He’s Two: Disney Cars Birthday Party
My Little Man turned two this month. Wow! How time flies! Last year we hosted a home birthday party and it was fun, but a lot of work. This year we decided to have his birthday party at our local Children's Museum. We are members and so there was steep discount - no cleaning up, you can bring your own decorations and food, and the kids get to play with awesome things (restaurant, dentist office, bank, yacht, grocery store, dress-up stage, art room, and much much more!) How could we not host a … [Read more...]
My Son Needs a Cute Toddler Haircut!
My Little Man just turned two. Besides one very small trim back when he turned one, he has not had a hair cut. We'd like to keep his hair long but the uneven mullet he's sporting needs to be fixed a bit. It is past time. We just haven't done it. So I've been Pinning toddler boy haircuts trying to figure out what we like. I've narrowed it down to these three toddler styles: Which toddler haircut do you like best? Thankfully during my Little Man's unruly hair stage, I have a very perfect … [Read more...]

Printable Summer Reading Checklist for Kids
This summer my Princess will still be finishing up Kindergarten homeschool. We have decided instead of giving her 2-3 months off in the Summer, we'll homeschool year round. In August we'll give her (and me) two weeks off before we start 1st grade. A Harvard Family Research Project in 2011 shows the importance of year round learning for kids. What do you think of year-round learning? I want her to keep learning through the summer and one way for us to do that is to have a Summer Reading List. … [Read more...]

He has refinished and stained new bunk beds for the kids, … [Read more...]
Parenting A Toddler is Heartbreaking
I don't think I noticed it as much with child number one. Maybe because I knew we'd have a second baby. But last night, while I was sleeping in my bed for the first time without my Little Man I could feel my heart breaking. Parenting a toddler is bittersweet isn't it? Two days ago we took down the Princess Castle Bed that my daughter almost never slept in. We put up a newly redone wood bunk bed in it's place. This is the summer of transition. We've co-slept with both of our kids. It hasn't … [Read more...]
