I have stuck to my guns. My Little Man has slept in his own bed at the start of each night since he turned two. The latest he's slept in his own room was 4:00 am. Then I go in and lay next to him or let him come into bed with me. To be honest, it hasn't been easy. My husband was gone for a week right after we made the transition and it would have just been easier to have him in my bed with me. But I knew it would only have made it more difficult to keep him in his own bed. He … [Read more...]
He’s Two: Disney Cars Birthday Party
My Little Man turned two this month. Wow! How time flies! Last year we hosted a home birthday party and it was fun, but a lot of work. This year we decided to have his birthday party at our local Children's Museum. We are members and so there was steep discount - no cleaning up, you can bring your own decorations and food, and the kids get to play with awesome things (restaurant, dentist office, bank, yacht, grocery store, dress-up stage, art room, and much much more!) How could we not host a … [Read more...]
My Son Needs a Cute Toddler Haircut!
My Little Man just turned two. Besides one very small trim back when he turned one, he has not had a hair cut. We'd like to keep his hair long but the uneven mullet he's sporting needs to be fixed a bit. It is past time. We just haven't done it. So I've been Pinning toddler boy haircuts trying to figure out what we like. I've narrowed it down to these three toddler styles: Which toddler haircut do you like best? Thankfully during my Little Man's unruly hair stage, I have a very perfect … [Read more...]
He’s Walking, Running, Jumping – Oh My!
I participated in an Influencer Program on behalf of Mom Central for Huggies. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for participating. My Little Man was a late walker. My husband was starting to get worried. I figured he was fine though and I was in no hurry at all to have him walking. Because I knew. My life would drastically change once my baby was on the move. Since he was 17 months old I have been chasing him like crazy. Now he isn't … [Read more...]
Parenting A Toddler is Heartbreaking
I don't think I noticed it as much with child number one. Maybe because I knew we'd have a second baby. But last night, while I was sleeping in my bed for the first time without my Little Man I could feel my heart breaking. Parenting a toddler is bittersweet isn't it? Two days ago we took down the Princess Castle Bed that my daughter almost never slept in. We put up a newly redone wood bunk bed in it's place. This is the summer of transition. We've co-slept with both of our kids. It hasn't … [Read more...]
Our Potty Training Experience
I documented our experience with potty training my Princess quite frequently four plus years ago. It was a long transition for our family. I bought her a fun pink potty chair when she was 18 months. I had high hopes and expectations of potty training. But you know what? My daughter wasn't fully potty trained until she was 34 months. Yep, no more diapers or Pull-ups at 2 years old and 10 months. What a long ordeal! I learned a lot and even wrote an entire post with "10 Potty Training … [Read more...]
Chasing Kids on Scooters is Exhausting!
I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Reebok. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating. My Princess has taken out her new scooter this week. She got it for Christmas but has been a little nervous about riding it. I talked her into practicing slowly at first and within 30 minutes she had it down. We brought it with us to the RV. It really is the perfect riding toy for RV life since it can … [Read more...]
