Toilet Paper Roll Pumpkin Craft

October 26, 2014 By LaVonne

My Little Man was sick the last few days. Which means, with the hubby in Tacoma for work I was stuck inside with the kids. You'd think I would have gone crazy, but we kept busy. One thing we did was some crafting. We scoured Pinterest for some ideas and I found a few examples of toilet paper Halloween crafts. I didn't want to make a "scary" toilet paper craft but thought a pumpkin toilet paper craft was a fun idea for my Princess. Step 1: Measure width and length of orange construction paper … [Read more...]

We Had Fun Visiting Swanson’s Family Farm!

We Had Fun Visiting Swanson's Family Farm!

My Princess' soccer coach invited us to attend her family farm for the 1st grade public school field trip. She knows we homeschool and she wanted Bella to have the chance to attend, pick a pumpkin, pick some apples, make cider, play in a haystack maze, and eat treats. We were so thankful. Bella loved it! And yes, Nathanael did too. I appreciated that the family picked all the pumpkins before we came out. We have had some rain, a lot of rain actually here in Western Washington, so I wasn't … [Read more...]

Carving Pumpkins: Toothless Dragon Pumpkin

October 21, 2014 By LaVonne

Carving pumpkins is fun isn't it? We visited our local family farm last week and picked out about ten pumpkins of varying sizes. This weekend we had really warm weather (almost 70 degrees) and went out side to carve some of the pumpkins we picked out. My Princess wanted to use the Toothless Dragon Pumpkin Stencil for her pumpkin. She tried to do it alone, but it proved a bit difficult. That's ok, we had fun doing it together. My husband wanted to carve a simple … [Read more...]

Pumpkin Spice Cake Mix Cookies

October 17, 2013 By LaVonne

Thank you Global Influence and HERSHEY'S for sponsoring today's post. Halloween is a fun time of year because truthfully I love the over abundance of candy. I have the worst (or best, it depends on how you look at it) sweet tooth. Really. I can't buy the candy or I will eat it. So when HERSHEY'S sent a box full of candy to our front door, you can imagine my extreme delight as well as dread. Not good for a weight conscious mommy! My Princess and I love baking together. But we prefer … [Read more...]

Pumpkin Dump Cake Recipe

pumpkin dump cake

We made another dump cake this week for church potluck. And by we, I mean, my Princess, who is 4, did most of the work. We like making dump cakes since they are simple and easy. Last week we made a peach dump cake and it was a hit. My mom makes a pumpkin dump cake similar to the one we made with only slight variations. Now that we made this pumpkin dump cake for church potluck, my Princess cannot wait to help Nana make it for Thanksgiving. It really turned out well, and tasted great. Everyone … [Read more...]

Christian Pumpkin Carving

christian pumpkin carving

This week we visited the Stony Creek Farms Pumpkin Fall Festival in Noblesville, Indiana. What a fun time we had! A hay ride took us up to the pumpkin patch which was all among Christmas trees. We searched high and low and found the "perfect pumpkin" for carving. At home, daddy helped the Princess carve her pumpkin while Little Man watched with glee. We got the pumpkin carving idea from last week's post Alternatives to Halloween.   I think our Christian pumpkin carving turned … [Read more...]
