Hedlin’s Family Farm

The annual Festival of Family Farms in our county happened this last weekend. We enjoyed six hours of pure fun on Sunday. We visited 5 family farms, ate great food, and enjoyed many free activities.

About Festival of Family Farms

The family farms of Skagit Valley welcome and open their barns and lifestyles to families for this one-of-a-kind event.Β On this weekend, you can have a hands-on-experience learning what it takes to run a farm, from growing crops to feeding animals. It is an opportunity to talk to the farmers and follow your food from the fields to the table.

The participating farms offer fun-filled festival activities for everyone including:

  • educational exhibits
  • farm tours, harvest markets
  • gardening demonstrations
  • free samples
  • kids activities
  • corn and hay mazes
  • animal exhibits
  • pumpkin patches
  • scenic tours and more

Of course, our tradition is to get our pumpkins for the front porch on this exciting weekend. The kids LOVE bringing the wheel barrow out to the fields and picking their own pumpkins. Corn mazes and hayrides are also a hit for both of my kids.
