Can you imagine paddling a canoe for a week, maybe even more? Well, at least 100 canoes are going to be doing it this week. And I am on the ground crew for my family’s canoe, The Salmon Dancer. The Princess and I will be helping Nana set up camp, cook, and clean. I am not sure if I will like it or not. But I am sure that the Princess is going to LOVE camping all week. One more thing I know: I will have lots of stories and photos to share with you when I get back next week. … [Read more...]
Kiss My Boo-Boo
As we sat in the nightly meeting yesterday at the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in Hotlanta (Atlanta), my eye hurt. Very badly. I must admit, I was whining a little bit. (Or a lot.) So my Princess, being the sweet girl that she is, gently kissed right below my eye. Then she said, "Feels better now." It still hurt but I felt better. As we were laying in bed later that night, fighting with the Princess to PLEASE fall asleep, she saw squirming. When she threw her head back into the … [Read more...]
Crying for Daddy
London 2009I was shocked when my Princess was able to stay a whole night with Grandpa and Grandma. A little sad, but happy, VERY HAPPY. We picked Saturday night as the night for sleep overs. So, a couple Saturdays ago, when I started packing up my things to head home, I was surprised when at the last moment my Princess decided to come home with me.I asked her on the way home why she didn't want to stay with Papa and Nana, she said, "Daddy not home." She is so sweet; she did not want me to be … [Read more...]
Scaredy Cat
That is what I was when I was three. A BIG scaredy cat. I was taking swimming lessons at a local pool. They put up a platform so that the shallow end would be even more shallow. As all the children held hands, and followed along with the instructor, singing Ring Around the Rosy, I was scared. At the end of the song when we all were supposed to "fall down", I was the only one who stayed up. Even at 3 years of age, that is so like me - a pretty big wuss. So, when we went to our outdoor community … [Read more...]
We’re Back from Branson: Home Sweet Home
After being gone for 4 weeks (when we thought we would be gone for 2), it feels great to be home. Our seminar ended with a good number of people baptized and more who recommitted their life to Christ. It is always difficult to make new friends and then leave. But it is nice to know that we will have a BIG reunion again one day in Heaven. After our seminar ended in Oklahoma we were invited to go up to Branson, MO for 3 nights with the Pastor's family. We gladly and readily accepted their … [Read more...]

Police, Open Up!
So I may have mentioned before that I am a bit of a wuss. I don't like opening the door to strangers. So last week when my Princess was sick and we were home alone one evening it should not surprise you that when some strange man banged on my door, I did not open it. It took me a while to peer behind the blue curtain to see who it was, and I did not recognize him. He gave up and walked away, I was not too worried. He didn't see me, I didn't see his face even.Fast forward 2o minutes. I heard some … [Read more...]
