I will mix the two memes today and talk about the top ten things that I think Isabella is grateful for.#1. Mommy - of course I must be number one. She L.O.V.E.S me. That is the best feeling in the world. Some days it can be hard though, when I just want her to go to daddy.#2. Breastfeeding - she used to sign more when she wanted to eat. She will now yell Mom or hit her own little chest. She is 17 months and still loves to breastfeed. This week since all the family left, she has been wanting to … [Read more...]
Children are Hard Work
Well, I was spoiled too when the grandparents were here. These last two days my Princess has wanted all my attention. She was getting so much constant attention from them she has forgotten how to play alone. Daddy has been gone all day the last two days, so I have felt exhausted by the end of the day. Everyone tells us to have one more so that she will have a playmate. (I don't know, maybe I will just be double exhausted.)She is pretty funny though. She has being saying yelling Mom all day. It … [Read more...]
Spoiled Little Monster My Princess
So, after 10 days with Grandpa and Grandma, Isabella is becoming spoiled!Who would have guessed, right?I can notice a significant difference though. She whines and yells much more than normal now. Of course, the Grandparents don't mind. Everything she does is cute. Meanwhile, this mommy goes crazy. We will have about 1 week to get back to normal, where I hope that consistency and the occasional timeout may help her behavior; then it is back to Washington for 19 days with Grandpa and Grandma! My … [Read more...]
Back From Reno
Today I am sick - stomach flu. (Yuck.) I have not blogged since the 13th, which is a record for me since I started blogging. My parents and sister came in on the 14th so I blame them. :) So I am lying in bed, feeling sorry for myself, wanting to eat something, tired, and wishing I could go to Walgreens to do the weekly list and dreading checking my junk hotmail account. (Wow, long sentence.)Daddy and the Princess are outside in the pool. I am doing a terrible job at taking pictures this week. I … [Read more...]
Top Ten Sunny Day Activities (Weather You Like it or Not)
I do admit that we are blessed to live in such great weather. Here are our top ten things to do this time of year, weather I like it or not (weather is spelled incorrectly I know, but some days I just feel clever. Ha ha ha.) 1. Fill up the inflatable pool so bugs can land in it and Isabella can get her protein for the day while she drinks the water (telling her no is not working). 2. Go for a walk in the stroller to the post office, bank and library. Dread the large hill to walk up but … [Read more...]
God Even Gave Me a Present Today
I woke up to a hug, kiss and present from my family. I got what I asked for - 30 Day Shred. Plus, I was surprised with more gift - the newest Newsboys CD, which I wanted (I love that song In The Hands of God). Isabella picked out my card, it was an Elmo card. She had a hard time handing it to me. She loves Elmo. Then, my wonderful husband made me Fiber One pancakes (with a half a banana blended in it and ground flax seed), eggs and bacon strips. It was YUMMY! (I am a lucky mommy and wife, I … [Read more...]
Dr. Sears: Attachment Parenting, Can I Get a Refund?
It was a rough night last night. Isabella woke up more times than normal, and wanted to breastfeed to go back to sleep. Tyler had a big morning today and has to preach tonight as well, so I didn't want to disturb him. I just kept waking up and feeding her. (Yes, I am super mommy, didn't you know?) The Princess sleeps with us, and I still breastfeed, even a couple times per night. (Last night was worse.) Attachment parenting has its benefits, but today I am dwelling on how exhausted I am. You … [Read more...]
