So today I tried a new thing with Isabella. Time out in the corner. She does not like to listen. Spankings don't seem to work. "No" seems to mean nothing to her. So I decided to give her time out in the corner against the wall for 1.5 minutes. She stayed for the most part but she kept turning her head, laughing. She thinks it is a game. I kept a straight face for the first 3 times she did it, but could not help myself any longer - I busted up laughing. So much for disciple. Please tell me that … [Read more...]
Word Filled Wednesday
How much better to get widom than gold, to choose understanding rather than silver! Proverbs 16:16 NIVWe are in Nottingham now and having a nice time. We are staying with a local family who also have a baby girl. The woman is a fabulous cook. She is Jamaican. I might just gain weight here!Tyler and I have been walking to the park and stores on our free time. We decided to go on our own to the supermarket. We stopped someone who and asked where the market was, not realizing to her market meant an … [Read more...]
No Bias Here: We Have the Best Daddy Ever!
My sweet husband is still recovering from jet lag and time change from his mission trip in Ukraine (10 hours ahead). So two nights ago he woke up at 2:30 am and never went back to sleep and last night he woke up at 3:30 am for the day. So by the time Miss Isabella and I dragged ourselves out of bed he was dressed and already ate breakfast. And get this? He made us banana pancakes! And they were G.O.O.D.! He was happy to open his gifts. I was able to get him a great pair of summer Teva shoes … [Read more...]
Wordless Wednesday: Playing With Her Great Grandpa
Playtime
So, while recovering from outpatient surgery, my family really stepped up and took care of Isabella. For a couple days, they had her most of the day. When she got home Saturday evening after being away from me for 7 whole hours, I gave her a BIG hug. And you know what she did? She pushed me away! I missed her so much, and all she wanted to do was get down and play! Well... I guess I can't wish for a break and then miss her like crazy at the same time can I? (But isn't that what motherhood is all … [Read more...]
Home Alone
It is strange to be home alone. My parents took the Princess to church while I stayed home to relax. It is funny that as a mommy all you want is a break, just a small one each day. But once you are apart from your child, then you miss them. Crazy! (Maybe she did drive me crazy after all?) I have been watching National Geographic, reading How to Help Your Child Really Love Jesus, twittering (click to follow me), visiting blogs (click if you want to enter over 100 giveaways), and just plain trying … [Read more...]
Sunday Not So Funnies
At shower time last night I was pulling my contacts out of my eyes and putting on a shower cap when I heard a splashing sound behind me. My naked Princess was smiling as she was smacking the stepping stool where she had just peed. She thought it was funny to see the "wawa" splatter everywhere. Gross!?! Mommy did NOT think it was funny at all. At least it was not poo poo. … [Read more...]
