Ten things I can now do with only one hand: (While holding a toddler, of course.) In no particular order of importance: 1. Type up a new blog post . (See what I do for you all?All 10 of you or so.) 2. Upload and edit 50+ pictures from my digital camera (which I still don't know how to use.) 3. Flip blueberry banana whole wheat pancakes (hubby's wonderful recipe, they are super yummy). 4. Use the bathroom, pull up and zip pants. (TMI, but this one is pretty hard.) 5. Read a book. Itchy Hands
Well the last few days my Princess has been scratching her hands. Either she will rub them together or she will actually use one hand to scratch the other. It started with her right hand and now it has moved to her left hand. They are a little red right now (not too much), and not too dry. She scratches more during her sleep and right when she wakes up. I have been just hoping rather naively that it would just go away. I don't know what it is and I don't feel like having to go through it. … [Read more...]
10 Years?
Shouldn't I get a Phd by now in marriage? Wow! 10 years ago today I married my husband. I was 20 years old. Just a child. But we made it. With the help of the Lord, we have survived 10 years and thrived. I can't wait for at least 50 more! You know, the older you get the faster time flies. Really, it does not seem like 10 years. So this post is a BIG Happy Anniversary message to my husband a wonderful man. A man who has put up with impatience, bossiness, stubbornness, selfishness, cold toes, and … [Read more...]
Home Sweet Home
We are so excited to be in the end stages of buying a home. Unexpectedly, we flew up to Washington on Wednesday. The bank wanted our paperwork signed by Thursday, and we were not originally scheduled to fly up here until Friday. Praise God, the inspector could do a 3 hour home inspection Wednesday evening. Thankfully, our house passed the test with flying colors.Did I mention that we are buying a foreclosure? We are getting a great deal for so much less. A contractor built this home for himself, … [Read more...]
Late Night or Mothering With God’s Help (You Pick)
Do you ever get blogging ideas late at night when you can't sleep? Then, when you wake up you cannot remember all the brilliant, witty, pertinent things you wanted to write about? Well, last night was one of those nights. But lucky for you, I remember! ;)I was thinking about this blog I read last night by Helene (a funny mommy blogger I enjoy reading). She wrote about how she felt like she was missing the "mothering" gene at times. I related to that. Some mothers just cannot wait to have another … [Read more...]
Copy Cat
Today, as we got out of the car to go to the Grocery Outlet, I pulled Isabella out of the car and put her on the cement. She proceeded to spit (a large amount for a little girl) on the concrete. As she looked at her enormous pile of spit she laughed in proud admiration. As I looked at husband in humorous disgust, (because of course this one is his fault), he laughed. Oh, the age of copying everything we do has officially begun. Lord, please help me to be a better example! … [Read more...]
