I look forward to the Fall Just Between Friends Mount Vernon consignment sale every year. It is such an amazing sale! What do you look for first when shopping for kids consignment? I always head to the girl's clothing section. My son gets great hand me downs from my sister-in-law … [Read more...]

We Found Our Noah’s Ark Party Animal Costumes at Oriental Trading!

September 20, 2016 By LaVonne

Each year, our Children's Ministry department hosts a Noah's Ark party for Halloween. The kids went last year and had so much fun. We are excited to go again this year. The party attendees are encouraged to wear animal costumes and in addition to fun Fall party games with Hallween candy prizes, the Noah's Ark story is read. All the "animals" get on the ark while the Noah's Ark party is reenacted.  So much fun! I found great animal costume ideas at Oriental Trading this year. There are so … [Read more...]

Get Outside with the Kids and Hide Painted Rocks!

September 15, 2016 By LaVonne

This is a sponsored post with Adams Natural Peanut Butter. All opinions are mine alone. Has your city jumped on board the idea of a Painted Rocks club? It's simple: paint rocks, hide them, post on FB what they look like and a hint where they might be hidden. You can also go out for the day and simply hunt for painted rocks. It is so much fun. We have two community Facebook groups near us where you can post your painted rocks and found rocks. The one for our island is active, but I've … [Read more...]

As a Family, Talk about Tuition Insurance! Be Prepared!

September 9, 2016 By LaVonne

As college students are preparing to head back to school this fall season, one topic that is not discussed enough is tuition reimbursement. Many times, there is not reimbursement for students on tuition, room and board fees -- for any reason. Can you imagine if there is an illness, injury, or unexpected accident that prevents a student from attending college? What happens to the money that has been given to the school? When I was in college, I didn't think to even ask that question, nor my … [Read more...]
