As much as I truly love being a mother, I am also a human being which means being a mother can get to be a bit tiring and stressful on a day to day basis. I mean, it takes a whole lot out of you! Sometimes you get to feeling like you’re going to go crazy because maybe that day there is a whole lot going on, and that’s completely okay. However I am going to be giving you a few tips and tricks for remaining calm on those stressful days, and how to have a bit more patience with your little ones.

Four Tips to Have More Patience with Small Children

Take a Minute to Breathe: If you feel like you are getting all worked up and like you are about to explode, take a minute to just stop what you are doing and take a few deep breaths in and exhale. Something as simple as this can make things so much better, trust me! You just instantly feel a sense of relaxation and you are ready to get back to what ever you were doing with a clear mind.

Get Your Kids Into Doing a Quiet Activity: If you are finding that your kids are completely wound up and going crazy all over the house, try to sit them down and do a calm and quiet activity to calm the situation down a bit. You can try turning on a favorite movie and snuggling up together on the couch, or maybe try getting them a coloring book and crayons. This gives you the time to just sit down and take a minute to relax.

Scream Into a Pillow: If you are just feeling really uptight and like you need to just let out a good scream, do it! I would suggest maybe going into another room and doing that into a pillow or something like this so that you don’t scare the kids or anything. However, I think you will feel MUCH better after releasing some of that built up stress. This helps to relieve that stress without blowing up at one your kids.

Lay Down for a Nap with Your Kids: If you are really just needing to sit down and relax for a bit, try to lay your kiddos down for nap time. If you are really feeling worn out and tired, lay down for a nap with them. This way you all get to lay down and relax for a bit and you’ll feel good to go when you wake up.

Spinning Seat in Kids' Zone

If you are feeling stressed and anxious when you are at home with your kids, don’t take it out on them. Just take a minute to step back and relax for a minute. If you let all that stress and anxiety build up, then you may blow up at one of your kids and take it out on them, and trust me…you will feel bad about that later!
