I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for #CollectiveBias and Walgreens #HealthCareClinic. How can I not protect these little cutie pies while we are traveling on the road? I know I am biased, but look at them they are perfect. {You'd never guess how ornery they could be by looking at their sweet faces...} Since we started traveling for my husband's job in 2010 with our first child and now … [Read more...]
When Things Are Out of My Control
The winter weather really affected our seminar attendance with the local church here in Baton Rouge. Attendance hasn't been as high as it was a week ago. Or as high as it normally is. It is frustrating. You can't control it but you want people to meet Jesus and have a life changing experience. That's a noble desire, right? My children are driving me crazy. My son's hitting had become almost non-existent (praise The Lord!) but now he is screaming - a lot! Screaming is in my top five things … [Read more...]

My Toddler is Hitting!
My sweet baby boy is a bully. He is only 19 months old but he makes his 6 year old sister cry at least once a day. He is hitting her and scratching her pretty often. And she is scared of him now. Have you dealt with a rough, bully of a boy before? Is your toddler hitting everyone in the family? It is so foreign for us. Our daughter has always been sweet and gentle too. Many times our toddler is hitting out of frustration. He can't communicate well. I get that. But, hitting and scratching? No … [Read more...]
Playing In His Puke
I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for Collective Bias and its client. We flew home from Montreal, Quebec on Sunday and fly out to Denver on Wednesday morning. These few precious days at home, in my own bed, are fleeting and chaotic. Mostly they are just plain stressful. Unpacking, cleaning, laundry, and repacking equals stress for my life. On top of this, due to time zone changes, my … [Read more...]
Advice for Parents of Kindergartners
Thank you FHE Insiders for sponsoring today's post. I am homeschooling, so I don't understand what it feels like for parents to send their kids off to school at the age of 5 or 6 for the first time. I can't imagine actually. The thought of sending my daughter to school all day honestly terrifies me. Is that strange? I am that overprotective mother who'd rather shelter her child. We homeschool because of our travleing lifestyle, but even if we weren't traveling I'd still homeschool these … [Read more...]
Parents: Take a Tech Timeout!
Thank you Tech Timeout for sponsoring today's discussion. I was given a challenge. The Tech Timeout™ challenge. From Friday September 6th through Sunday September 8th I signed up to take one hour away from technology per day. That sounds easy right? I thought it did. But, I am so connected to my laptop and iPhone that even one hour per day had to be intentional on my part. I have already learned by experience that parenting, Christian living and family time all needs to be intentional. … [Read more...]
