Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. All opinions are mine alone. Oral care is important. Starting great oral health habits early is also important. That's why as parents, my husband and I, try to make dental hygiene fun and mandatory in our home. Not only do our kids have to brush and rinse twice a day but they also visit our local dentist twice per year. Now, flossing is more difficult to mandate -- thankfully our children enjoy taking care of their teeth. Dental health is … [Read more...]
Parents! Learn about the Importance of Childrens Dental Care
This post was sponsored by Give Kids A Smile as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own. This month I read a story about a 26 year old California man who died due to tooth infection. That tooth infection had spread to his lungs. I remember seeing how many people were surprised by this information on social media. I don't think the majority of Americans realize how important dental care is. Here on our reservation, we have … [Read more...]
Parents, How Do You Deal with Summer Bedtime?
I participated in this sponsored campaign on behalf of Firefly, REACH, and One2One Network. All opinions stated are my own. This is Nate's last week of preschool. Isabella is already out of school. It's hard to believe summer break is upon us. Here in Western Washington we deal with long days -- the sun goes down after 9 pm. The kids, of course, love it. It's harder on mom and dad though. {My kids are 8 and 4.} During the school year, we have a pretty strict bedtime with both kids. … [Read more...]

True Love: A Star Wars Toothbrush
Disclosure: This is a sponsored post with the One2One Network and Firefly®. All opinions are mine alone. We have a great dentist in our small town and the kids get their teeth cleaned and a get a check-up 2-4 times per year. Both of my kids have done a great job in the dentist chair and have been model patients. They both have also loved brushing their teeth. In fact, my son went through a … [Read more...]
She Lost Her First Tooth!
Back in mid summer we started to see two small little teeth nubs behind our daughter's bottom baby teeth. Her permanent bottom front teeth were coming in! Everyone was excited. When we told her to start wiggling her baby teeth to get them more loose, she wasn't too keen on it. She said it hurt. So for the month of August, we told her to wiggle it or we'd have to bring her to the dentist in September. She didn't wiggle it much at all. Goodness, I remember wiggling my teeth until they were … [Read more...]
Six Tips to Brush Toddler Teeth
My daughter was such an easy toddler. I didn't realize it until I now have a very unruly toddler. My patience is tested daily and I daily fail at being a patient parent. Nothing comes easy with this Little Man - including brushing his teeth. To be honest, when we force him he sometimes just cries. But when he cries with his mouth wide open, we don't mind, because then we can brush all his teeth more easily. Terrible, right? We have talked to the dental hygienist and dentist and we are … [Read more...]
