Mother Daughter Movie Night on Netflix

Mother Daughter Movie Night on Netflix

Mother's Day is coming up. Very soon. I'm going to keep saying this --> where is 2015 going? It is just flying by. I like to have breakfast with the kids on Mother's Day but then I usually like to relax. Honestly, I spend most of my days with my kids. Like 24/7 kind of time. I know, I know, I am a stay at home mom, so of course that is to be expected. But, on Mother's Day, I love to just go out and have me-time. Last year, my husband gave me $40 cash and sent me to the local Goodwill. He … [Read more...]

Our Sunday Breakfast Party with the Princess Only

Our Sunday Breakfast Party with the Princess Only

When you have two kids, the oldest child can begin to get pushed off to the side. The focus shifts, and the youngest, the baby, gets the attention -- at least the majority of the attention. I know it happens in our home, and my husband and I try our best to not do it. But, it is inevitable. It is nice that we live so close to my parents, because there are times (maybe twice per month) where they will take the Little Man with them for the night, and my Princess and I get time to ourselves. … [Read more...]

What age is good for a first pet?

What age is good for a first pet?

Two months ago, on a football Sunday, a cat came over to visit. We hadn't seen the cat before. We could tell she was a pet and not wild. She wanted to come inside the house so badly. The kids went out and played with her for hours. She was so patient with both of my children. They even brought her some salmon to eat (from our lunch menu) and a dish of water to drink. They were in love. That led my Princess to a question that I've heard countless times in her young life. "When can I get a … [Read more...]

Mocktails Your Whole Family Will Love!

New Year's Eve is fast upon us. Man, oh man, where did 2014 go? Time just seems to fly by the older I get. I am now closer to 40 than 30, and my kids are growing like weeds... Does your family have any New Year's Eve traditions? My kids are young, and honestly last year we rang in the New Year with the East Coast. Which meant bedtime at 9pm PST. I used to stay up to midnight every year but not last year. Do you still stay up until midnight to ring in the New Year? This year, I'd … [Read more...]

VeggieTales In the House Free Printable Activities

When I first learned that our beloved VeggieTales would have a new show on Netflix beginning November 26th, I was pretty exited. We own almost every VeggieTales DVD, and love Netflix, so this was such a perfect partnership. I must admit, I was worried about the faith based aspect of the show. Would being on Netflix alter the faith-based focus that my family had grown to love? I watched the first three episodes of VeggieTales in the House with my kids this past week and I am happy to … [Read more...]

Healthy Friendship Tips for Kids

We've traveled so much for my husband's work that my daughter has made friends in a lot of cities around the country. But as she is getting older (almost seven) she is becoming more shy. Making friends isn't coming as easy to her. When kids are younger, they make friends so easily. As we age, it seems to progressively get more difficult. I have friends that I've known since I was a baby and friends I've know almost my whole life. Those friends I cherish, even if I don't see them as often as I'd … [Read more...]
