Meet my sister-in-law Melanie. I have known her for 13 years and I can honestly say we are friends - good friends. She is a wonderful wife and mother to four great children. Three are boys that are all under the age of 8. I have blogged about her before when we first got "The News". You see this last November, Melanie had a seizure in her bed early one morning. As a result, she had an MRI that showed a tumor in her brain. The news rocked our family to the core. About Yahoo! Women Who … [Read more...]
A Baby Story
Welcome to the world, Nathanael - or Nate the great as grandma calls you! I did it again, a natural birth. But this time? It was very hard. I didn't think I could do it... At 9pm the night before, I started having light contractions every 25 minutes. This went on through the night. By 4am they were about 10 minutes apart. I never told you all this but I was Group B Strep positive. The midwife wanted me to go in if my water broke or when my labor was 5 minutes apart. Right away - so I could … [Read more...]
Tips to Fight Pregnancy Heartburn

Stage 2 Brain Tumor
While we are trying to finish last minute shopping today for Christmas (yes, we are that family who waits way too long!), I wanted to give everyone an update on our family. I mentioned before that my sister-in-law had a seizure Sunday before Thanksgiving which led to a CT and MRI that showed a brain tumor. After a long month of doctors, tests, medication and sleepless nights, she has been able to get it removed. The doctor (a very good doctor at UCLA) removed 90% of it and after pathology … [Read more...]
Morning Sickness
source I have been struggling for the last few weeks with morning sickness - all day! During my first pregnancy, I did great. I had a very smooth pregnancy. Didn't throw up once. This pregnancy? Miserable, so far! So imagine my surprise when I forgot to take my prenatal vitamin yesterday and I felt like a million bucks? I have been complaining to my husband (this must be his fault, right?) about feeling sick, feeling depressed, and basically not feeling like myself. So … [Read more...]
