Well, my godson Kaleb got into a pretty serious accident on Sunday. They had to rush him to the larger hospital in Seattle. He wrecked on a 4 wheeler and hit his head pretty hard. The helmet fell off and he fractured his skull. He also broke his collarbone and cut his leg pretty bad. He had to have surgery today to clean the leg and cut away dead tissue. The doctors keep saying he is a lucky little boy. The swelling in his head and eye is going down and he is walking now. I am so thankful that … [Read more...]
Marriage is For Life!
While we were on vacation in Washington state, my husband and I celebrated our 10th anniversary. One way to make your home "sing" is to choose to stay married and have a good happy marriage. Marriage is not always easy but love should be a choice not just a feeling. Our choice is to stay married, put God first in our marriage, and be together for life - no matter what. I am so glad we have made that decision. We are happily married after 10 years and I can't wait for 10 more! Gen. 2:18, … [Read more...]
Things I Love Thursday: Answered Prayers
God is so good to us. We are blessed! This week He has answered our prayers in two areas. First, my Princess' rash is almost completely gone. We don't know what caused it, or what it really was, but I am just thankful we serve a God who cares about the small things like a rash. The second great news is that we received a letter today from the Pacific Union Conference. About two weeks ago, my wonderful husband, sat before a committee to be interviewed for ordination in the Seventh-day Adventist … [Read more...]
Prayer Request
So a week and a half ago we noticed a rash on the Princess' back. We thought it might be a heat rash or a contact rash. (It was pretty hot in Paris, especially on the Subway and we had to wash laundry in Nottingham in regular detergent.) After the weekend ended, the rash did not appear to be going away. We decided to take her to a pediatrician who told us not to worry. He said that almost all children get rashes and they are not serious. She never had a fever so we have not worried too much. He … [Read more...]
Home Alone
It is strange to be home alone. My parents took the Princess to church while I stayed home to relax. It is funny that as a mommy all you want is a break, just a small one each day. But once you are apart from your child, then you miss them. Crazy! (Maybe she did drive me crazy after all?) I have been watching National Geographic, reading How to Help Your Child Really Love Jesus, twittering (click to follow me), visiting blogs (click if you want to enter over 100 giveaways), and just plain trying … [Read more...]
Practicing Thankfulness: Pee, Popcorn, Pledge Dusters, Prayer
So this week I want to give thanks for things that start with P. The last few days on Sesame Street they have been doing the letter P. So I will follow suit. (See what I have become!?! Goodness, who am I? Oh yeah, a mommy.) Practicing Thankfulness Pee Pee - Isabella went Pee Pee again this morning in her potty chair. It took about 10 minutes of sitting there after we woke up but I was patient. Thanks commenters on this previous post for all the advice on potty training. I am taking it all … [Read more...]
His Name Is Jesus
Tonight my princess had my quarterly for church and she was flipping through it. She likes to pretend she is reading now. She handed it back to me and when I grabbed it she pointed at the man on the cover in the background and said Jesus, in her cute whisper voice. (It mostly sounds like a couple well placed S's, but I know what she is saying.) It melted my heart. I gave her a high five and said, "Yeah, good job. That is Jesus." And she was happy. I tried to get her to do it for daddy but she … [Read more...]
