This quarter in Kindergarten homeschool, my Princess is learning how to tell time. She loves it. We've learned about the short hand and long hand as well as the hours (1-12). We've proceeded to learn about 30 minutes after and 15 minutes after the hour. She LOVES it. In fact, math is her favorite subject right now. She taught herself how to count by 5s all on her own from 5-100. So now that she can count by 5s, telling time has become much simpler for her. Here is a round up of great … [Read more...]
Continuing Education for Stay at Home Moms
Becoming a parent is one of the world’s most rewarding treasures. With children come many blessings: countless moments of joy and laughter, a youthful rejuvenation, and of course, being able to love and care for someone. With that being said, in today’s society, staying competitive in the workforce is essential. How can a stay-at-home mom continue their education while raising a family? There are many options for continuing education, many of which you already know. I wanted to focus on … [Read more...]
Kindergarten Homeschool Resources
Last week, my Princess and I had a 100 Days of School party. (You'll see the photos of our fun day soon!) We've completed 100 days of Kindergarten Homeschool! I know, we are little behind. But the great thing about homeschooling is that you can just keep going as long into the summer as necessary. Plus, my Princess actually loves school time so summer school sounds like fun to her. (Me? Well, I do what I need to do!} I might start having school a couple Sundays per month to catch up a bit. … [Read more...]
Ocean Themed Lessons and Activities
In our Social Studies class we learned a little about Oceans. My Princess loves Math but disliked Social Studies. This quarter we are doing Science, which is her new favorite class. There is also printables, games and library list. Disney's Finding Nemo offers games, … [Read more...]

Family Game Night on the Road
When we travel to other states we generally fly and rent a vehicle. The travel time is greatly reduced from Seattle and it is much easier with two young kids. I mean, really, who loves traveling in a van for a few days with young children? Not me, that's for sure. But the downside to that kind of travel is we are limited to our suitcases. For this trip to Baton Rouge we brought 3 large suitcases and 1 garment bag. We have mastered the art of packing light. Besides about 6 outfits each, we … [Read more...]
Read More Books to the Kids in 2014
My husband and I both enjoy reading. We want to instill that love of reading in our children. So, though we don't make New Year's resolutions per say, we think resolving to read more books to our kids in 2014 is a great goal to set. So each evening, the television goes off. After dinner is over and the kitchen is cleaned - my Princess has reading time. She either gets a book read to her, or she practices her Kindergarten reading. My son is still getting easy numbers and shapes board books. … [Read more...]
