Rewarding Myself For a Job Well Done

February 21, 2014 By LaVonne

#lovehealthyme

I have been doing great on this healthy journey. Not perfect, but honestly great. The past couple weeks have been a journey of self-reflection on why I am overeating (stress mainly and to feel joy secondary) but it has also been a re-start on habits that I had previously done. Good habits. I love Weight Watchers. I have blogged about my journey with Weight Watchers many times. I love it because it is simple and I get to eat the foods I like. But more than that, it teaches me to eat exactly … [Read more...]

How to Treat My Sick Toddler?

February 11, 2014 By LaVonne

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Zarbee’s Naturals. I received product samples and a promotional item as a thank you for participating. Our weather has been crazy here in Baton Rouge. One day it is 75 degrees and the next it will be freezing and the whole town shuts down. So it came as no surprise to me when I had a sick toddler this week. A low grade fever, runny nose, and a terrible cough - add to that sleepless nights and you have the perfect formula … [Read more...]

Save on Time and Healthcare Costs for Traveling Moms

February 4, 2014 By LaVonne

I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for #CollectiveBias and Walgreens #HealthCareClinic. How can I not protect these little cutie pies while we are traveling on the road? I know I am biased, but look at them they are perfect. {You'd never guess how ornery they could be by looking at their sweet faces...} Since we started traveling for my husband's job in 2010 with our first child and now … [Read more...]

Do You Need a Kids Health Guide?

January 28, 2014 By LaVonne

Wouldn't a comprehensive kids health guide be awesome to own? How about a guide that covered children ages birth through 10  years old? I don't know about you all, but parenting is hard enough without having to worry about simple health problems. I have brought my daughter to the ER a couple times in the past and do you know they did? They sent me home and told me to give her Tylenol. Yep, $500 for pretty much nothing. If only I had The A To Z of Children's Health. About THE A TO Z OF … [Read more...]

Powerless to EMPOWERED? Made to Crave Week 1

January 25, 2014 By LaVonne

I have learned a lot about myself this week by participating in the online Bible study for Made to Crave. These were things that I already knew, but was not facing. So by reading the first few chapters of this book (with 40K other participants!) I had a bit of a wake up call. Do you live in a vicious cycle like me? I live in at least two vicious cycles: I crave what I eat then I eat what we crave. I vow to do better, make excuses throughout the day, then promise to do better again … [Read more...]

I’m Doing the Made to Crave Online Bible Study! Join Me?

Made to Crave Book

So this month, I have been back on track with a healthier lifestyle. I want to lose weight. But, I also want to be more healthy. With two children underfoot, I want to give them a good example in healthy eating and maintaining a healthy weight. So I am doing it. Again. After baby number two came, getting rid of the weight has not been as easy. Maybe, since I am older than I was with baby number one (five years older!), it isn't coming off as easily. Or maybe it is because I have not really … [Read more...]

Greater Than AIDS Campaign

January 13, 2014 By LaVonne

I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for Collective Bias and its advertiser. I grew up and currently live on the Swinomish Indian reservation. When I was growing up, I didn't know much about HIV and AIDS on a real level. Private things like sexuality and illness tended to be kept quiet in our small community of less than 1000 people.  As I became a young adult, I became aware of tribal … [Read more...]
