We have had some great weather the last two days so we went to the park in Meadow Vista. When we arrived in the parking lot we say a gaggle of geese being fed by a woman. When I say gaggle I mean - like 40 birds (geese and white swan). Of course, us being city folk, we were excited. So Tyler took Isabella out and decided to feed them too - her cheerios. I held the cheerio bag and Tyler started passing out the cereal two at a time. Well, these geese were not wanting two; they began to get … [Read more...]
New Things Every Day
So, Isabella is sleeping with us and it has been getting difficult for me. She is waking up almost every hour and wants to eat to fall back to sleep. So we have been debating what to do. Put her in her bed? Use our playpen? Take a free crib from friends at Amazing Facts? We are just trying to decide. So the last two nights I decided to just let her wake up and not feed her. Enter tears, and whining. But I pushed through and didn't give in and she fell back to sleep - on her own! I was so happy. … [Read more...]
Chicken? Well at least it was organic.
Well, my daughter is not quite 10 months old and she ate chicken! I was feeding her a left over Gerber Organic winter squash mixed with corn and she finished it. So I took out a new 3rd stage Earth's Best Organic Soup - split pea and carrot. She took her first bite of this new soup and made a small face but liked it well enough. After the third bite, I noticed something on the front that I didn't see when I bought it at BRU. The two small words that I should have noticed - "with … [Read more...]
Update on Grandma Miller
Grandma Miller died this afternoon at her assisted living facility. She died peacefully in her sleep, without any pain. Her two daughters and one granddaughter was there by her side. It is bittersweet - We are sad to be losing a grandparent, we are tired of disease and death in this world, but we are glad that she did not suffer for months. Thank you for keeping our family in your prayers. God bless! … [Read more...]
Great Grandma Charlotte
I have one memory of visiting my great grandmother; it is a very hazy memory at best, but I do remember being scared of her. She was very old and wrinkled laying in a bed. I wish that I knew more of her. She was the Seventh-day Adventist in our family. Her faith influenced my uncles and aunts, it influenced my own mother and our life. Isabella was able to visit her great grandma last week on our trip to Southern California. We had a great visit. Grandma Charlotte loved seeing Isabella … [Read more...]
Good Girl Or Not?
We laughed today about Isabella's home personality and her public personality. Whenever we are out in public whether it be church, shopping, or visiting family and friends she is a delight. Everyone comments on what a happy baby she is. She almost never cries in public. Her whining and crying is reserved for home. I suppose I don't mind everyone thinking she is the best behaved baby in the world. Friday, Isabella stood up by herself in the center of the room! She had been letting go while she … [Read more...]
Sleeping Beauty
I am so happy, Isabella is sleeping so much better this week. She is my sleeping beauty. I am hoping that the poor sleep phase at 8 months is now over. (Those weekly baby emails assured me it would soon pass.) We have had an exciting week! We are thrifty people. When we eat out, we almost always order water. We like to add little to go packet of lemonade or something to our water. Well, one packet I found was a sugar free Hawaiian Punch that is Blue. I keep it our diaper bag since that goes … [Read more...]
