So this week I want to give thanks for things that start with P. The last few days on Sesame Street they have been doing the letter P. So I will follow suit. (See what I have become!?! Goodness, who am I? Oh yeah, a mommy.) Practicing Thankfulness Pee Pee - Isabella went Pee Pee again this morning in her potty chair. It took about 10 minutes of sitting there after we woke up but I was patient. Thanks commenters on this previous post for all the advice on potty training. I am taking it all … [Read more...]

Pee Pee in the Potty!
I have been discussing potty training with my husband and family for a little while now and to be honest I guess I have been a little lazy about it. I know my Princess is only 15 months old but I feel like there are times that she is acting in a way that she can go potty on the toilet. So this morning I woke up, played with her for a little while, started to change her diaper, and realized that if I needed to go, then maybe she did too. Duh, right? So we went into the bathroom and both went … [Read more...]
Lost and Found: Parenting at the Grocery Store
Shopping at Wal-mart with Isabella can be miserable at times. Well, who I am kidding, it is miserable each time. When we finish and are checking out, I like to bring Isabella to an open lane (there is always open lanes there even when the lines are hugely long). Daddy gives the checker my 30+ coupons and makes sure they all scan, and I let Isabella get into things. On the lane they put things right within her reach that she loves - Disney Princess cell phones, Cars cameras, and Buzz Lightyear … [Read more...]
His Name Is Jesus
Tonight my princess had my quarterly for church and she was flipping through it. She likes to pretend she is reading now. She handed it back to me and when I grabbed it she pointed at the man on the cover in the background and said Jesus, in her cute whisper voice. (It mostly sounds like a couple well placed S's, but I know what she is saying.) It melted my heart. I gave her a high five and said, "Yeah, good job. That is Jesus." And she was happy. I tried to get her to do it for daddy but she … [Read more...]
Climbing to a Picnic
We took advantage of the 73 degree weather yesterday and went outside. My wonderful husband decided to clean the gutters since it may rain this week. (Rain? Yuck.) And Isabella and I went down the stairs from the deck and up the stairs from the deck, and down and up, and down and up. I don't even know how many times we did it. I really began to get painfully bored. There are only 5 steps but she did not want to quit. When are stairs going to quit being so exciting for her? Whenever I open our … [Read more...]
Ele-FUN
My princess' favorite animal right now is an elephant. It actually has been for a little while. So when daddy saw a Planet Earth elephant with elephant DVD for $15 at Wal-mart he could not pass it up. So her Easter gift this year is Ellie the Elephant (they named her). She was so excited yesterday when we played the DVD. She was running all over the living room and making elephant noises as best she could. After church, she fell asleep on her new favorite toy. So cute!Do your kids have favorite … [Read more...]
