Yes, we really are still doing school. It has just been a long time since I have talked about Homeschool with our Preschooler. We are in small town Iowa right now. Yet, the library is fabulous here which I am very happy about. You know they check out puzzles here! That is a big plus. We have checked out 3 puzzles so far, and we love them. Really, the library is my best friend for homeschool items. We are working on the following books: Another great thing we found that was … [Read more...]
Successful Potty Training
Can I take a moment to brag? Let me have this Mommy Moment please! My Princess does not wear pull ups all day at home. She goes #1 and #2 in the toilet. We are still working on nighttime and time outside of the house. But this is BIG. Top Ten Potty Training Tips: #1. Don’t worry! You don’t see too many “big” kids in diapers. Your child will get it. #2. Don’t push. It does not matter how aggressive you are. Your child will go when they want to go. Incentives don’t really work that … [Read more...]
Ladybug, My New Friend
We found a ladybug in our windowsill. The Princess LOVES ladybugs. She gently picked it up and proudly carried it around for half an hour. While she was in the shower she placed the little ladybug in a cup. When she was done, her new friend was gone. We searched high and low for the lost ladybug, but no luck. Do you know how long she talked about her new friend, almost crying about missing her? Half the day! Finally, my husband told her he saw the ladybug and she had to leave to go back to … [Read more...]
Not Isabella Anymore
My Princess does say the funniest things. As she is getting older, she is coming up with things that I don't know where they came from. It is cute. This morning she woke up and was sniffing a lot. It got cold here in Iowa last night - in the 20s - which is cold for us. Our heater runs all night. Her nose gets dry and she gets a little stuffy. She told me, "My voice sounds funny. I am not Isabella anymore."I laughed so hard. I told her that she was in fact my Isabella still and gave her a big hug … [Read more...]
Celebrate Your Thirties
I enjoyed a birthday this week. Because we travel so much, October is usually a time that we are in a new place. I get the privilege of celebrating my birthday with my wonderful husband and lovely Princess each year. I am glad that this year we had the night off for my birthday.I woke up to breakfast in bed. My favorite - red potatoes, scrambled eggs, "bacon" strips, and toast. Then, I even got a homecooked dinner - homemade marinara with angel hair, garlic toast, and green salad. The cake? A … [Read more...]
Toddler Sayings
sourceThe Princess' newest saying is driving me crazy. I don't know where she picked it up but every time I tell her no she says,"Come on, please?" Literally, every time. Why does she not get it when I say no? Will this ever end?Spankings and time outs do not seem to work any more either. She does not seem to care. I started "grounding" her from items as well. You know things she loves - gum, candy or treats. She hates that, but still she is having a hard time listening. Maybe this is … [Read more...]
