Preschool Homeschool Update

November 10, 2010 By LaVonne

Spread the love

Yes, we really are still doing school. It has just been a long time since I have talked about Homeschool with our Preschooler.

We are in small town Iowa right now. Yet, the library is fabulous here which I am very happy about. You know they check out puzzles here! That is a big plus. We have checked out 3 puzzles so far, and we love them.

Really, the library is my best friend for homeschool items.

We are working on the following books:

Ten Little Ladybugs Hands Are Not for Hitting (Board Book) (Best Behavior Series)Alphabet (Paula Wiseman Books)The Very Hungry Caterpillar Pop-Up Book

Another great thing we found that was recommended to me by my sister in law is LeapFrog Letter Factory. My Princess absolutely loves it. We checked this out at our local library too.

I love hearing her say the sounds that the letters make. It is fun and a great learning tool as well as entertaining. She always wants to watch it. I highly recommend it.

One last thing that we have incorporated in our homeschooling is the use of the computer. Before we came to this seminar in small town Iowa, I had not taught her how to use the computer. We had looked at websites from some of her favorite PBS shows but that was about it.

I found some great clearance items at Target last month, including a Preschool workbook that contained a CD ROM. I decided to try it out, and within about 10 minutes my Princess could easily use the laptop “mouse” and answer the questions correctly. Now she will play her CD ROM educational games all by herself for about 15 to 20 minutes per day. Even on the weekends now!

School has become even more fun this month!
