Sorry honey, but today is cleaning day. I have a dirty shirt on. I had to borrow the Princess’ purple hair snap to hold my bangs back. {Yes, I know it does not look good.} I have no makeup on. But yes, I did brush my teeth today. Welcome to The Mom Look. I am so glad you love me no matter what. I am a blessed woman. I will try and do better tomorrow. … [Read more...]
Prayer Requests
My husband provides seminars on the Bible that are open to anyone in the community. As we travel to six different cities a year, we get so many different kinds of people attending. It is really good for our family to interact with so many people of all ethnicities, socioeconomic backgrounds, and faiths. I am glad for this opportunity. But, I won't lie to you. There are days when being away from home, living out of a rubbermaid container, and not having access to all my favorite foods can be … [Read more...]
Devotional Time
I just absolutely loved my morning devotion today. Mind you, I didn't quite get to it right when I woke up. But such is the life of a mother. The verses to contemplate were:"Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling." I Peter 4:8-9 (NIV)Romans 12:9-10, "Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves." (NIV) … [Read more...]
Being Nice
“We always be nice, mommy.”This is a very common phrase in my house. My Princess uses it for everything she can.Mommy: “Don’t climb up on my chair anymore, Princess. This is my chair. Homeschool Preschool Week 3
The seminar started this week and I could feel us start to slack in our school time. We didn’t spend as much time as I wanted to for school. So this new week we will be getting back into the routine we began. We did get some new books at the library. We went over the regular things: shapes, colors, numbers, and alphabet. But, I also wanted to incorporate a few new things:I wanted to introduce her to the concept of Seasons. This book was perfect. After we read this the first time on Monday, she … [Read more...]
Toddler Lunch
You know how toddlers are independent, strong willed, and somewhat annoying at times? Yes, you must know what I am talking about. It is enough to sometimes drive a mommy CRAZY.But then, you realize, you get a GLIMPSE, of why this independence is so great… She can make her own lunch now! Whohooo… I can see it now: PB and Jam for breakfast, lunch and dinner. *okay, maybe not but I am still quite happy. … [Read more...]
Sick and A Little Tired
I have not been bragging the last two weeks like I should have been. I mean, when we decided to put the Princess on the floor beside us when we moved here, I didn’t shout it from the roof tops. I should have though. I realize that now. I guess, I didn’t want to jinx it. So this week, I got sick. The hubster picked up a bug at the State Fair. He was sick for almost a week. (Now, who goes to a State Fair sick and spreads their germs around? I’d like to have a nice talk with that person!) So … [Read more...]
