We were gone this last week for work. (Again.) But this time, we left our Princess with her grandparents. (Praise God for grandparents!)So while we were gone, missing our Princess more than she missed us, we called often to check in on her.One of the days, Daddy decided to pretend her was Santa Claus. (She now believes that Santa Claus does exist.)He ho ho ho'ed throughout the conversation which he asked her if she was a good girl. He encouraged her to continue to be a good girl, to love Jesus, … [Read more...]
Having Children
My Princess figured something out recently. It is fun to watch her sort through her thoughts and ask good questions. She started our conversation by asking, "Who was in Auntie's tummy?"I proceeded to tell her all four of her cousins were in Auntie's tummy at one time. She then said, "I didn't know you can have four babies."So I explained that yes, women can have four and even more babies.Which led to, "Then why are we only having 2? I want 3 more!"Daddy quickly interrupted by telling her we will … [Read more...]
Big Girl Bed
sourceI have a BIG announcement. My Princess is not in my bed any longer. After close to 4 years of co-sleeping. I am done.I want her in her own bed.We tried to keep her in her own room, alone. That did not work. She slept on her own for four hours, but once she woke up and realized she was alone, the tears came.My husband ended up going in there and sleeping next to her.So I decided to bring a bed in our room.We travel so much, I realized it would be unreasonable for her to sleep alone. When we … [Read more...]
Baby’s Heartbeat
sourceWe made it safely home! After a blessed weekend filled with baptisms and a wedding, we left Oklahoma on such a high note. We will miss our friends there. The flight home was pretty miserable. Two planes, one sick and pregnant mamma, and a 3 year old who didn't want to sleep. But we made it!After a restful night of sleep (praise the Lord for grandparents who are willing to take the Princess for the night!), we got ready to head to our first midwife appointment.Everything went well. And the … [Read more...]
Pregnant!
Yes, we wanted to have a baby in June 2012 and it looks like God has answered our prayers. I am due the first week of June!God is so good.We travel so much, we have to plan a baby around our already scheduled 2012 seminars. So pray for us as we travel back down this road. {Hopefully better equipped to deal with a newborn than we were with our Princess!}To tell you the truth, I am still quite terrified of having a newborn and a rambunctious preschooler in the house.Of course, my Princess is very … [Read more...]
Swimming in the Pool
I blogged about her swimming earlier, and just wanted to share a video about it with you all on my blog. This video was taken this week at the apartment pool here in Montreal, Quebec. Our goal is that she will be able to swim across the entire pool before we leave Montreal. By the looks of things, I am sure that is a possibility! Her favorite game is now to pretend to be an attacking alligator. She chases us all around the pool trying to capture us. We have lots of fun! … [Read more...]
Swimming Lessons with Daddy
I recently read that 30 minutes of swimming burns approximately 350 calories! I love swimming laps. That 30 minutes is like heaven. With my head under the water, I can’t hear anything. It is peaceful.. {Some of you know the constant noise that occurs when being a parent of a 3 year old energetic girl.} Here in Montreal, we have a pool at the apartment we are staying in. Not only have I been swimming laps for exercise but my Princess has been swimming like a fish. She can swim very well … [Read more...]
