Mid-Morning Me-Time: Tea Party for One
With both the kids in school, and hubby working away from home more often, I have time in the mornings alone. I usually take those hours for uninterrupted blogging. Before this, I was blogging at night after the kids went to bed. But now, I get to go to bed at a decent time. It has been lovely. On days when I put my blog … [Read more...]
How to Teach Your Kids at Home
We've made it through the first semester of Preschool with flying colors! It started out difficult - my Little Man had a hard time going for 3.5 hours per day by himself. Four Tips for Parenting Alone
by Rebecca Alwine As a military spouse, I’ve have the unique experience of parenting alone more times than I ever imagined. Some compare it to being a single parent, but I do not agree. Yes, in that moment, I am the only parent at home, but that is not a fair representation of the support I get from my husband. Emotional support, financial support, and parenting support, while often communicated through Skype or a phone call, is still support I get that a single parent wouldn’t. So for those … [Read more...]
8th Birthday Pool Party (in the winter!)
Last month my Princess turned 8! We gave her a choice of party ideas and she chose to have a birthday pool party. We have a local pool that you can rent, before it is open to the public. They have a warmer kiddie pool with a beach style entrance and a water slide. They also have the main pool with lap lanes. There is also a very deep pool with a diving board. We had the pool for 2 hours and invited her classmates and their families. We had a lot of fun. The kids were happy as well as the … [Read more...]
