Last month my Princess turned 8! We gave her a choice of party ideas and she chose to have a birthday pool party. We have a local pool that you can rent, before it is open to the public. They have a warmer kiddie pool with a beach style entrance and a water slide. They also have the main pool with lap lanes. There is also a very deep pool with a diving board. We had the pool for 2 hours and invited her classmates and their families. We had a lot of fun. The kids were happy as well as the parents.
Happy 8th Birthday, Isabella!
When looking for some pool party decor, of course I visited the Oriental Trading website. Since my husband is a surfer, we went with the Surf’s Up Party Supplies. The colors were cute, and the variety was great. We love Oriental Trading – there literally is something for every party you can imagine, and at a very affordable price.
We wanted the party to be very laid back. Kids could come up and eat when ever they wanted. Since it was from 10 am to 1 pm on a Sunday – I served simple food.
- sandwiches
- chips
- bars
- juice boxes
- two-bite brownies
Can you believe my daughter doesn’t like cupcakes? She does like brownies though. So we decorated those up a bit and honestly, everyone loved them. I am a pretty big brownie fan myself, so I was happy.

Looks like she had a blast! I always wanted a pool party, but my parents always said no. Haha. Hope she has many more birthdays to come. God bless her!!

How fun! I think you ned to go to the pool at least once during the winter, plus every kid needs at least one pool party! You are so organized!
