{Semi-Homemade} Mini Blueberry Pie Recipe

This last Christmas, I found this cute little baking product to put in my mom's stocking - a Wilton Mini Pie Press. It was small enough for a stocking and I knew my entire family would think it was a fun little baking gadget. This past month, I borrowed it from my mom and decided to make mini blueberry pie for the whole family. I like to have easy recipes like this so my seven year old can help in the kitchen. She loves baking and cooking. So though this isn't "homemade" we still had fun … [Read more...]

Elementary School Vegetarian Lunch Box Ideas

Now that we've quit homeschooling, we are dealing with packing school lunches. I have been searching the interenet for ideas. My daughter had our version of a vegetarian lunchable the first week. Then we moved on to hotdogs. Next, she got a regular cheese and vegetarian bologna sandwich. Throughout the last month, I've also given her pasta and leftover Asian food. She is getting bored now. She wants new vegetarian lunch box ideas. Last week she started using a new kid's backpack and lunch bag … [Read more...]

Easy Valentine's Day Cards with Hallmark

This year for Valentine's Day we are giving out non-candy Valentine's cards. One girl in my Princess' class is diabetic and so we thought to be fair to her, we'd give out Valentine's Day themed pencils with her cards. There are many handmade Valentine's Day cards to be found online - and they are all so cute. But, to be honest, it is easier for me at this point in my life, to buy Valentine's Day cards for my Princess' class. So that Pinterest board full of card ideas will have to wait until next … [Read more...]

Have You Heard of the Underwareness campaign?

February 6, 2015 By LaVonne

Thank you Depend for sponsoring today's post about the #dropyourpants #underwareness campaign. Did you know there are 65 million people suffering from bladder leakage each year? In fact, maybe you suffer from bladder leakage. I have an aunt who purchases products each month at the store for light bladder leakage. There should not be embarrassment associated with this health condition. In fact, it is pretty normal. Just not talked about often. Another close family member began suffering … [Read more...]

A Valentine Gift for Teacher

A Valentine Gift for Teacher

We love my daughter's new teacher! If you missed our announcement last month, we have quit homeschooling and we put her into a highly academic private Christian school in our county. I've been driving 27 minutes each morning and afternoon to bring her and it has been worth it. She loves it and she loves her teacher. To thank her teacher this Valentine's Day, I wanted to get her a special Valentine gift. I don't know about you but I really love shopping in-store and online at Family Christian. … [Read more...]

What age did you let your daughter wear makeup?

February 3, 2015 By LaVonne

What age did you let your daughter wear makeup?

My daughter loves play makeup. Absolutely loves it. She plays dress up almost daily and I find her makeup not only all over her face, but usually her brother's face too. I won't embarrass him in the future with blog pictures of that. Sorry, I know you'd all love to see her makeup application skills on my Little Man. There has been more than one occasion that she has tried to sneak out of the house wearing her play makeup. {I did that too, but I think I was a bit older...} We always catch it … [Read more...]
