Fun Sights to See Around Madison Square Garden

May 19, 2015 By LaVonne

For sports and music fanatics, the Madison Square Garden is a really exciting place to visit. It’s a state of the art arena that is filled with 130 years worth of history. Inside, you will see different memorabilia of the New York Knicks and Rangers, the Chase Bridges, and VIP suites and bars. And after you tour around Madison Square Garden with your family, you can also visit the other sites found outside the arena. If you are tired with the typical trip to the mall, this place is the best … [Read more...]

Language Learning for Toddlers!

May 19, 2015 By LaVonne

This is a sponsored post for Kadho. All opinions are mine alone. My son has far surpassed his age group in the ability to speak and communicate. It's amazing to see the differences in both of my children. My daughter was much further behind. Many people have mentioned that second children pick up words and sentences more quickly than first. Whether that is true or not, I am happy that we have been able to communicate with him without too much frustration. The exciting language … [Read more...]

Great Luggage and a Trip to Orlando? Yes Please!

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Atlantic Luggage. All opinions are 100% mine. We just purchased tickets for our annual family vacation. This year we will be spending Thanksgiving in the Florida Keys. You have no idea how excited we are. We decided that after Thanksgiving week, we will head up to Orlando as well for three days. Seriously, excited people! Packing and traveling with a family of four isn't always easy but there are a few great things we've learned … [Read more...]

A White Shirt? Really?! (Cleaning Toddler Clothes)

May 18, 2015 By LaVonne

Our local big box store had an amazing sale on 3 piece toddler boy clothes. We were able to buy a t-shirt, polo shirt, and a pair of matching shorts in a popular skater boy brand for a reasonable price. I can never pass up a good deal - especially on toddler clothing. I don't know what I was thinking when I bought one with a white t-shirt. White! Just call me crazy. How in the world will I keep that thing clean the rest of Spring and Summer? Ugh! As you can see, my Little Man not only gets … [Read more...]

Three Ways to Combat Sibling Rivalry

May 17, 2015 By LaVonne

We've had both kids at home for 12 days. It was Spring Break. I forgot how hard it can be with two kids in the home all day. Things go well with two kids 4.5 years apart, until they don't. Then, before you know it, it's "You're so annoying" and "You're making me mad" continually coming from their not so innocent mouths. And I realize, with a lot of mommy guilt, that they've heard me say similar things to them as well this past week. They fight EVERY SINGLE DAY. If only they got … [Read more...]

All About Pentecost

May 16, 2015 By LaVonne

What is Pentecost? One of the major feasts in the Jewish calendar, Pentecost was celebrated fifty days after the Passover. It was a way for the Jews to thank God for their crops. After the resurrection of Jesus, this feast would be celebrated much differently for Christians. In the book of Acts chapter 2 we find Peter, one of Jesus' disciples, in Jerusalem. He and other early church members were in Jerusalem to celebrate Pentecost. When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one … [Read more...]

Basic Composting for Home Gardening

May 15, 2015 By LaVonne

Composting is all about taking what came from the Earth and putting it right back into the Earth, hopefully in a way that will benefit other plants. Gardening is a great way to use up all the compost that you create, and it is the best way to feed the soil that you will be growing in. Whether you are vegetable or flower gardening, compost is always a great soil addition and the best thing you can do for your plants. [Tweet "Composting 101: learn The Best Thing for Your Plants."] If you are … [Read more...]
