Starter Juice Recipes

February 1, 2011 By LaVonne

We have been juicing vegetables and fruits now for over a week. We love it. Even my Princess enjoys her fresh juice. She asks for juice with the "baby leaves" (baby spinach). She even helps make the juice, which is fine by me. I like to start her young on healthy eating with great juice recipes. A small glass of fresh juice at breakfast is so wonderful. And the health benefits? Priceless. Some days we do not get the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables. Juicing helps us get the … [Read more...]

Juicing Spinach: Spinach Juice Recipe

Who would like fresh juice with spinach in it? Anyone? Well, my Princess is into it! She loves fresh juice with spinach thrown in. Not only that but she really loves helping make the juice each morning. My daughter is such a good helper! (Can't you just hear The Wonder Pets singing about teamwork right now? No just me? Ok, then.) We resurrected the ole Juice Man Jr. from the cupboard we never open (you know the one right?). This week we have been making fresh juice. Spinach Juice Cocktail 1 … [Read more...]

Vegetarian "Chicken" Noodle Soup Recipe

When we are traveling on the road for my husband's work you need to plan your meals as best as possible. We can't take a lot of food with us when we leave and we hate wasting food and money. So when you get down to the last week of the seminar, and you are preparing to move to a new location, you start getting more creative with your food. We did not go grocery shopping on Sunday like we normally would do. We need to eat the items we have left and if we run out of meals, we will eat out. … [Read more...]

Avocado Sushi

October 13, 2010 By LaVonne

Avocado Sushi rolls are my Princess’ new favorite food. Seriously. She asks for avocado sushi every day. I limited her to eating it three times this week. She's lucky that I love it too. Plus, it is so easy to make: Instructions: Add sushi rice (mix rice before with a small amount of rice vinegar) in a thin, even layer on the seaweed paper. Slice avocado and put a couple slices on the end of the rice. Gently and snugly roll. Careful not to tear the seaweed paper. Cut with a … [Read more...]

Vegetarian Orzo Recipes

June 19, 2010 By LaVonne

We are most likely having company tomorrow and we have some "weird" stuff left in our pantry, fridge and freezer right now. Since, we are leaving on Wednesday for Atlanta for a long weekend we decided not to do our regular shopping today. While I was looking in the pantry I found a box Orzo. Orzo is a rice shaped pasta and very easy to cook up when company is coming. Don't you just love the internet? I can just search "vegetarian orzo recipes" and get so many different recipes right at my … [Read more...]
