Jesus Helps Me

March 3, 2011 By LaVonne

At night, the Princess always reminds us that she needs to brush her teeth. She loves brushing her teeth and using her mouthwash. (I pray that she never has a cavity!) Last night when she remember before us yet again, she said,“I have something in my head that helps me remember.”“What do you have in your head?” daddy asked her.“Jesus is in my head and helps me remember” she replied. We laughed of course. It was cute and funny. It was not the first time she told us this. She has often told us when … [Read more...]

Bed Bugs

February 24, 2011 By LaVonne

Actually it was a gigantic spider hiding under the bed in the spare room. While building a fort, the hubby saw a very big spider. He came out of the room with our Princess, located a shoe and went back in with a mission: Get rid of that spider. Once the Princess figured out what his intentions were, she ran into the room to stop him. “No that’s my friend!” she yelled. (I was reminded of Charlotte’s Web in that moment – a favorite movie of hers.) Distracted by his daughter, he missed with the … [Read more...]

For homeschool preschool we are working on numbers, cutting, sticker placement, dot to dot, and writing the Princess’ name. we are having fun! With these books, the Princess really asks to do school all the time. Especially, the cutting. She loves cutting! We are also reading Bible stories that are considered easy readers. We have read her favorite one (Baby Moses) so often that she knows it by heart. Preschool on the Laptop

December 30, 2010 By LaVonne

My Princess got a mouse in her stocking this year. Since she has been regularly doing her Preschool lessons on the computer, we decided to introduce her to the mouse. She has been using the laptop "mouse" (what is that called?) and is used to that. So this week has been difficult for her to use the new mouse. But, the mouse is "her size", which makes her very happy so she is persisting.I belong to The Christian Homeschool Hub and the latest conversation has been about Homeschool programs and … [Read more...]

Preschool Homeschool Update

November 10, 2010 By LaVonne

Yes, we really are still doing school. It has just been a long time since I have talked about Homeschool with our Preschooler. We are in small town Iowa right now. Yet, the library is fabulous here which I am very happy about. You know they check out puzzles here! That is a big plus. We have checked out 3 puzzles so far, and we love them. Really, the library is my best friend for homeschool items. We are working on the following books: Another great thing we found that was … [Read more...]

Blessing Cards

November 7, 2010 By LaVonne

During our travels we meet so many great people. We get to know them in the four or five weeks we are working with their church, and then we have to leave. I always say that we will have a grand reunion in Heaven one day with a lot of great people. During this seminar, our Princess has really connected with the two lovely ladies who are in charge of child care. They have fallen in love with the Princess and are so very patient and kind to her. Our Princess lovingly refers to them as “my new … [Read more...]

Homeschool Preschool Week 3

October 4, 2010 By LaVonne

The seminar started this week and I could feel us start to slack in our school time. We didn’t spend as much time as I wanted to for school. So this new week we will be getting back into the routine we began. We did get some new books at the library. We went over the regular things: shapes, colors, numbers, and alphabet. But, I also wanted to incorporate a few new things:I wanted to introduce her to the concept of Seasons. This book was perfect. After we read this the first time on Monday, she … [Read more...]
