September 10, 2011 By LaVonne

I thought I’d give you all another homeschool update. Labor Day has come and gone and Preschool has started in our home again. This is the second year we are doing preschool. My Princess is 3. She still loves school time. We started school with her last September when she was 2. It amazes me how quickly she is picking things up this school year. Her new favorite are the Leap Frog videos. They stream instantly on Netflix and they are wonderful. She now has been saying words like this: “Bridge, … [Read more...]

Toddler News

August 14, 2011 By LaVonne

The latest news in our house:My Princess cut her bangs. Not too bad, luckily. Most people won't even notice it. I am so glad it was not worse. Why do toddlers like to do this? The Lion King soundtrack has become a favorite in our house. Note to self, next time just download the songs from the movie and save money. My Princess does not want to hear the scores or the Elton John songs {sorry, Elton but you are cut}. Now, if I can get Hakuna Matata out of my head, life would be even more … [Read more...]

Bible Marking

May 26, 2011 By LaVonne

When you don't hear a toddler for a certain length of time, you realize that they may just be doing something they are not supposed to.How many of you know what I am talking about? At church the other day, I didn't hear my Princess. So daddy decided to check on her. We were at church alone, checking our email. Sure enough, the Princess was sitting on the floor with a Bible (not her own) and a red pen. When daddy looked at what she was doing, he said, "No Bella! You are not supposed to write your … [Read more...]

Dollar Store Crafts

May 20, 2011 By LaVonne

We love this local store here in Canada called Dollarama. For quite cheap, we can find fun crafts for our Princess. This week, she picked out two wooden pieces to paint—a tray and a desktop organizer. They were only $1.25 CND each! We already had some paint, so this was a cheap week for craft time. This week for homeschool we are working on her letters that she has a harder time recognizing. She has about 6 letters she needs to work on. We are also working in a summer bridge book between … [Read more...]

Writing Her Name

March 31, 2011 By LaVonne

My Princess has been doing so well with writing her name. She recognizes her letters everywhere. Constantly pointing to letters on signs, in books, and in magazines. We have turned it into a game now.At church while we are patiently waiting for the sermon to end (Daddy's sermon, mind you) I let her look at the church bulletin and circle all her letters. She loves it. I love it, since it gives me a few moments of peace.(It is not always easy to entertain a child in the church service, … [Read more...]

First Cavity

March 16, 2011 By LaVonne

My Princess went to the dentist this week while we were home. We noticed a small black spot on her tooth and were worried. Sure enough, it was a tiny cavity. We were told that her molars had very deep grooves that would make it difficult for the toothbrush bristles to clean. The one thing about my Princess is that she loves brushing her teeth and using mouthwash. The hubster and I decided not to make a big deal about the visit. We prayed together before and we told our Princess that she would be … [Read more...]
