General Preschool Day

Spread the love

I thought I’d give you all another homeschool update. Labor Day has come and gone and Preschool has started in our home again. This is the second year we are doing preschool. My Princess is 3. She still loves school time. We started school with her last September when she was 2. It amazes me how quickly she is picking things up this school year.

Her new favorite are the Leap Frog videos. They stream instantly on Netflix and they are wonderful. She now has been saying words like this: “Bridge, Buh, Buh, B! Bridge starts with B!” It is so cute. {Thank you Leap Frog!}

We are working on various preschool workbooks, Kumon books, Alphabet flash cards, and especially numbers. My Princess is doing so well at her letters, shapes, and colors but her ability to recognize numbers and write them is not very well yet.

I am taking advantage of the abundance of online resources as well. I printed a homeschool planner and got 4 weeks of printables ready for our time here in Montreal, Quebec.

In addition to this, we have 3 computer programs installed for Preschool. We have School Zone Preschool, Charlie Church Mouse, and Color By Numbers. She loves playing computer “games”.
(Mommy has a hard time giving up the laptop though!)

I also found a free Amazon MP3 album, The Best of Countdown Kids. It has 10 common preschool songs. {It is now $0.99} With this album and Cedarmont Kids, Action Bible Songs, we have fun with singing and dancing to music.

We also are sticking with a family worship time before bed. We are reading from various Bible books and stories, singing together, and having prayer time before bed. I can see the difference in her behavior when we do this consistently and if we start to miss it.

We all need time in God’s Word!
