This is a sponsored post with Brightly. All opinions are mine alone. We love books here in our home. All four of us are simply in love with books. For that, I am so glad. As a child, I was a huge book lover. I had an aunt who worked in a book store and she bought me lots of books. Birthday and Christmas gifts were easy - a book or two was always loved by me. I was worried that my daughter wouldn't have the same love of books as I did. Last year, I had to make her read her 20 minutes … [Read more...]
My Combination for Homeschool Success
We are homeschooling year round with my Princess. We have just finished Kindergarten and now will take a few weeks off before starting first grade. In this first year of homeschooling, I have realized a few things about my teaching style and my daughter's learning style. I think that 1st grade is going to go even more smoothly because of what I've learned this year. Here is my combination of four things for homeschool success: A challenging curriculum. My daughter is smart and she gets … [Read more...]

Printable Summer Reading Checklist for Kids
This summer my Princess will still be finishing up Kindergarten homeschool. We have decided instead of giving her 2-3 months off in the Summer, we'll homeschool year round. What do you think of year-round learning? I want her to keep learning through the summer and one way for us to do that is to have a Summer Reading List. … [Read more...]

Homeschool Kindergarten: Telling Time
This quarter in Kindergarten homeschool, my Princess is learning how to tell time. She loves it. We've learned about the short hand and long hand as well as the hours (1-12). We've proceeded to learn about 30 minutes after and 15 minutes after the hour. She LOVES it. In fact, math is her favorite subject right now. She taught herself how to count by 5s all on her own from 5-100. So now that she can count by 5s, telling time has become much simpler for her. Here is a round up of great … [Read more...]
100 Days of School
We celebrated 100 Days of School last month in Homeschool Kindergarten! I am sure we were about 20 days behind public school but that's the great thing about Homeschool. We can do it year round and we'll be fine! I wanted to share some great pics from our school day. We found some amazing things to do online for our 100 Days of School party. Printables abound online, don't they. The internet really is a homeschool mommy's best friend! We found counting activities, coloring activities and … [Read more...]
