While I appreciate non-candy Easter basket ideas and Christian Easter ideas, my kids obviously want candy in their Easter baskets. Who am I kidding, I honestly want to buy candy too - then I can sneak a few when they aren't looking. So when YumEarth asks me to review their specially marked packages of Easter candy and fruit treats, I couldn't pass it up. I mean, come on? I've got will power but not when it comes to YumEarth. So my only real problem is trying to hide all this from the … [Read more...]
Palm Sunday Craft and Study for Preschoolers
This month in my son's toddler class at church he is learning about Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem on a donkey on Palm Sunday. {Palm Sunday is the Sunday before Easter.} There is a pretend Jesus riding a large wooden donkey during the story time. The toddlers are given fake Palm branches to wave while singing, "Ho Ho Ho Hosanna, Ha Ha Hallelujah". My Little Man LOVES it. So this week, for our toddler craft time, I put on some great Easter music from the Cedarmont Kids, read him a … [Read more...]
Thumbprint Tulip Cards Just in Time For Spring
In our county, we are known of our tulips. People from all over the world come to see our exquisite Tulip Festival. So, I thought, what better way to celebrate the coming of Spring this month than with thumbprint tulip cards? Three aunts have birthdays this month, so I pulled out the kids' stamp set and helped my Little Man make some fun and easy cards. Thumbprint Tulip Cards So, I basically just put his thumb and fingers in the ink colors and made three thumbprints on the cardstock. He … [Read more...]
15 Encouraging Quotes for Christian Women
I just got my email invitation to our church Women's Ministry Spring Day. We get to hear a great female speaker minister to us and worship together for an entire day. I look forward to it every year. As women, it is not unusual to put ourselves last. Our husbands, our kids, our church, our friends - they … [Read more...]
A Valentine Gift for Teacher
We love my daughter's new teacher! If you missed our announcement last month, we have quit homeschooling and we put her into a highly academic private Christian school in our county. I've been driving 27 minutes each morning and afternoon to bring her and it has been worth it. She loves it and she loves her teacher. To thank her teacher this Valentine's Day, I wanted to get her a special Valentine gift. I don't know about you but I really love shopping in-store and online at Family Christian. … [Read more...]
10 Things I Want to Crochet (One Day…)
I pulled out my yarn and Crochet Hooks this weekend. I'd like to start crocheting again. When you don't do it regularly, you forget the stitches. I had to print out a free PDF to visually see the stitches and I just practiced, pulled it apart, and practiced more. I have grand ideas for all the crochet projects I'd like to make this winter. This past summer my mom and I worked on a blanket for my Princess. I only made about 10 granny squares and my mom whipped out about 10x for the throw … [Read more...]
Toilet Paper Roll Pumpkin Craft
My Little Man was sick the last few days. Which means, with the hubby in Tacoma for work I was stuck inside with the kids. You'd think I would have gone crazy, but we kept busy. One thing we did was some crafting. We scoured Pinterest for some ideas and I found a few examples of toilet paper Halloween crafts. I didn't want to make a "scary" toilet paper craft but thought a pumpkin toilet paper craft was a fun idea for my Princess. Step 1: Measure width and length of orange construction paper … [Read more...]
