The Secret to Super Moist Chocolate Cake
We have friends at church who grew up in Oahu and moved to the mainland in the 80s. Our church potlucks, dinners, and social activities have great food at them. Because our friends can cook! One secret ingredient that I know she uses in making some baked goods is mayonnaise. In fact, mayonnaise is added to many dishes and I have come to appreciate this condiment in more ways than on a sandwich. Looking to take your holiday desserts from ordinary to extraordinary? Mustache Sugar Cookies!
This Father's Day my Princess and I did some baking together. Sort of. I bought a roll of sugar cookie dough and we make mustache sugar cookies for Daddy, Papa, and Grandpa Greats. We had fun. I installed Photoshop Elements onto my laptop and I am having such fun. Baking With Grandma (Almost WordlessWednesday Linky)
This last week my Princess helped my mother, her grandma, make a dump cake for church potluck. My Princess loves making dump cake. My mom always melts her butter and then adds it. The mixing of the cake mix and butter is my Princess' favorite part. Top the fruit mix with crumbled cake … [Read more...]
Frugal Christmas Tip: Baking Gifts
Frugal Christmas Tip: My favorite frugal Christmas tip is to bake your friends and family treats instead of buying them a Christmas present. It can save you money and it is more personal - isn't that a great frugal Christmas tip? Plus, most people don't "need" more stuff in their house. Baked treats, like Christmas cookies, can be enjoyed by the whole family. Once they are eaten, they are gone, not cluttering the house. This year I made chocolate chip cookies dipped in vanilla almond … [Read more...]
