Nottingham Castle Robin Hood We decided to head over to Nottingham Castle today. Tyler had two hours of lunch break available. When we finally parked and got into the entrance, we found out that we would not have enough time to see all the exhibits. (And we had to pay 4 pounds to realize that, bummer!) We will return tomorrow afternoon. I am excited to see it. The last few months I rented "Robin Hood", a BBC America television show. (Not because I knew we were coming here, but because I … [Read more...]
Day One in England
After walking out of the baggage claim area to the common area, we realized how difficult it might be to find the person who was picking us up. Tyler thought her name might be something like Christina. (The vagueness of it all did not sit well with me.) There were MANY people holding signs in this part of the airport, and we closely read them all. We didn’t see our name. I noticed an area that said “Meeting Point”, which I thought was a good place to stop with luggage and just wait and pray. … [Read more...]
We Arrived Safely
I have finally got hooked up to internet after being here for four days. I have been keeping a journal of sorts on my computer though. So I thought I would post the first entry entitled Flight. We decided to leave early for LA so we would not have to sit in the dreaded traffic. We went to the Santa Monica Pier. It was a nice place for us to kill some time. It was chilly on the water, but we walked around quite comfortably. We even saw some church members from our area that recognized us. The best … [Read more...]
Visiting Family
We are on vacation again. Visiting family before we prepare to fly out to England tomorrow. Funny, as I am packing up, I already can't wait to be back at home. I am sure we are going to have a GREAT time, I am just dreading 10 hours in an airplane with my Princess. I don't know if I will have internet access at the home we are staying at, or the hotel, so this may be a 3 week hiatus. I will miss my blogging and reading other's blogs. Any last minute tips on traveling with toddlers? I can use any … [Read more...]
Packing, Packing, Packing
We are leaving tomorrow for 19 days! Wow. That is a long trip. Isabella loves helping mommy pack, but she doesn't understand that the things need to say in the suitcase. When packing our carry on luggage, she wanted all the books, toys and snacks NOW. I packed LOTS to keep her busy. You know I have already said that the flight to Washington is exhausting but it will be nice to be home again. All week we ate the food in our fridge, didn't go shopping once, so today we went to In & Out … [Read more...]
Home Sweet Home is Always Bittersweet
I love going home to Washington but there is a joy in coming home here to N. California. Back to all our regular things, our routine. We had a great time and of course I will miss my family. I was able to relax and enjoy myself very much. I think I gained 5 lbs at home though. (GASP!) Back to no sweets and healthy eating for sure! I need a exercise routine that works well and is short. Any suggestions are appreciated. Here are 3 of my favorite photos of our vacation :My Sister and meIsabella on … [Read more...]
On Vacation
We flew to Washington last Thursday for 10 ten days. It is so strange not blogging regularly or reading my favorite blogs. (I may be going through withdrawls.) I finally went on the internet and had 142 emails in one account! I don't even want to check my "junk" email account. I am sure I have too many. After flying first class the last four times, I flew coach on Southwest. Junk! I hate coach now. I got spoiled. (Thanks Dad.) Isabella kept dropping everything and with her on my lap I couldn't … [Read more...]
