This week, we had a family movie night. To make our family night even more special we bought ice-cream, whipped cream, hot fudge, and maraschino cherries for dessert. I pulled out two holiday movie collections to have a special family Christmas movie night, The DreamWorks Holiday Collection and the Original Christmas Classics. Can you guess which set my Princess picked out? Yep. She choose The DreamWorks Holiday Collection. And yes, we watched all four animated films and we LOVED them. About … [Read more...]
Elf Magic Ideas and BOGO Deal!
It is that time of year to take out your Elf Magic! This is our first year celebrating this holiday tradition with our daughter. She is uncertain this year if Santa is real, so this Christmas tradition is coming at the perfect time for our family. If you are not familiar with Elf Magic, here's how it works: The Elf Magic tradition begins when your child writes a letter to Santa and asks if he can let an Elf come visit between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Then, a boy or girl Elf (they have … [Read more...]
Over the Edge for Brain Cancer
Brain cancer has affected our family in a way that none of us could have predicted. When we got the call that my husband's sister had a seizure and a CAT SCAN showed a brain tumor, we were floored. I mean, this happened to other families sure, but not ours. My sister-in-law, had a husband and four children. She went to church and was a good person. We couldn't help but question God, and say "Why?" When they initially gave her only mere months to live (an uniformed nurse) we could barely contain … [Read more...]

My sister and I prepared an 18 minute slideshow to share with guests and it was a high day. Is someone in your family having an 80th birthday party soon? Are you looking for ideas … [Read more...]

Advice for Parents of Kindergartners
Thank you FHE Insiders for sponsoring today's post. I am homeschooling, so I don't understand what it feels like for parents to send their kids off to school at the age of 5 or 6 for the first time. I can't imagine actually. The thought of sending my daughter to school all day honestly terrifies me. Is that strange? I am that overprotective mother who'd rather shelter her child. We homeschool because of our travleing lifestyle, but even if we weren't traveling I'd still homeschool these … [Read more...]
