I participated in a campaign on behalf of Influence Central for The Salvation Army. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating. I grew up in family who gave their spare change and bills to The Salvation Army Red Kettle every holiday season, every time we went shopping in December. My mom still gives. It seems that my generation relies more on cards than cash and I find myself often without any bills or coins. But guess who in my family loves to carry all her spare … [Read more...]
We’re Using Technology to Learn to Read
I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Rosetta Stone. I received a product and a promotional item to thank me for participating. We are making our way slowly through our first grade homeschool curriculum. Most days it is a struggle. Homeschooling is not easy. She complains a lot, does really well in her lessons, and really has no desire to attend our local private Christian school. I am leaning towards sending her. My husband and I are still … [Read more...]
Why Education is Important
I grew up in a Native American home on a Native American reservation. My grandparents were alcoholics and dirt poor for most of my dad's childhood - and despite that my dad was smart and did very well in school. When I was born, my parents had moved off our reservation and my dad went to college. Even at the young age of 20, my parents realized that they wanted more for their daughter. A new life. Time Outs and Toddlers (I need help!)
We are having the hardest time with our Little Man. I realize that two is a hard age. Really, it is much more difficult with this guy than it was with my Princess. He is meaner, more defiant, and very stubborn. We are at our wits end. I prayed for a really mellow second child - an easy going boy. I didn't realize that my Princess was our easy going child. She was so pleasant and easy to parent at this age compared to my Little Man. How did you make it through the toddler stage? We have … [Read more...]
