Perfect Shampoo for My Hair

August 26, 2014 By LaVonne

The Perfect Shampoo for My Hair

I usually like my thick, wavy, dark hair and if I had more time, I am sure I'd be fixing it into stylish hairdos a lot more. With Native American and Puerto Rican ethnicity in my family, long hair is something I desire. I am getting impatient trying to keep it long though. With small children, I do pull it back quite a bit. One day I will have more of a hair style... So when we are traveling for work, or for fun, I like my hair to look its best. But not just my hair, my scalp as well. … [Read more...]

Sand Toys Your Kids Will Love

We are planning two upcoming trips to the beach and we are very excited! First up, we are heading down to the Oregon coast for four days next week. We will be staying at a resort on the beach. {I cannot wait!} Then, at the end of next month we are spending nine days in Oahu literally on the beach as well. We love the beach! My kids can play in the sand and water for hours and hours and I love having a loaded Kindle to read all the books I have been getting behind on. Who doesn't love the … [Read more...]

My Combination for Homeschool Success #Combos4Success

We are homeschooling year round with my Princess. We have just finished Kindergarten and now will take a few weeks off before starting first grade.  In this first year of homeschooling, I have realized a few things about my teaching style and my daughter's learning style. I think that 1st grade is going to go even more smoothly because of what I've learned this year. Here is my combination of four things for homeschool success: A challenging curriculum. My daughter is smart and she gets … [Read more...]

Decorate Your Child's Room with a Nature Theme

We are blessed to be living in a more rural county in Western Washington. We thankfully, have a lot of evergreen trees. But if you live in the city in the middle of a man-made world it is more difficult to enjoy the great outdoors and nature that I often take for granted. Now it has become quite possible, with the emergence of tree wall stickers, to expose your child to trees in his own room from Tree Wall Decals World. Children loves being around nature – they love trees, flowers, … [Read more...]

Are Your Kids Refusing to Bathe?

My kids have this whole love/hate thing going on with bath time right now. I don't know if it is just kids in general but they often refuse to get into the tub. Who doesn't like getting clean? Kids confuse me quite frequently. But, I have noticed when I provide the offspring with new toys (yes, bribery) they will get in the tub easier. Are your kids refusing to bathe? Why don't you try some affordable and fun bath toys from Nuby? They will be a hit in your house, I know it! About the Nuby … [Read more...]

7 Perfect Candy Gifts for Grandpa

Last year, I had the honor of planning an 80th birthday party for my grandpa with my mom and sister. Now that August is here again, we are celebrating another year with this awesome man. My grandpa loves candy, especially chocolate. Each year someone in my family heads to the our local Costco where we buy See's Candies gift certificates at a great price. My grandpa loves getting See's Candies - especially the chocolates for a gift. Really, who doesn't love getting candy as a gift? {crazy … [Read more...]
