All About Her – My Princess

March 29, 2013 By LaVonne

My daughter and I went on mommy daughter date last week and had a great time. I bought a new dress. She ate orange sherbet for the first time and loved it. It is hard to believe how fast time is going by. This is what it will always be like. A blink. And she'll be gone. Grown up. It is so bittersweet. My Princess She loves to dance in the aisle during song service. She steals the iPhone to watch Kung Fu Panda way too loudly during prayer. She is independent and stubborn. She has no idea … [Read more...]

Will These Kids Always Get Sick?

Will These Kids Always Get Sick?

We are in the third month of the year and so far, each month has resulted in the kids being sick. It is making me wonder - will these kids of mine always get sick so easily? Is dealing with sickness the norm for most families? We travel so much and expose them to so many germs that I wonder if we are a bit at fault. Maybe I should be making sure they eat healthier, sanitize more, and wash hands religiously? We are having a great seminar in Arkansas this month. We opened with about 140 people … [Read more...]

Feeding My Baby is Easy With Nuby

March 6, 2013 By LaVonne

feeding my baby

My Little Man loves eating food and breastfeeding both. The last few weeks he has gone through a phase where he prefers breast milk or organic rice cereal. His jars of organic baby food are just sitting on the shelf as his preferences have changed. Whether I am feeding him organic rice cereal or prepared fruit and vegetable purees, feeding my baby is easy with the Nuby Wacky Ware bowl. Lately, we have been introducing well cooked vegetables and soft fruits in small cubes. He has tried cooked … [Read more...]

The Ugly Cry

March 3, 2013 By LaVonne

After I had it out with God, after a long week of teething, an eye infection and a stomach bug, I really thought my Little Man would not get sick too. I mean God couldn't possibly allow a baby to get a stomach bug. Babies cannot puke and have diarrhea for 48 hours straight, right? When my Little Man woke up and vomited three times and also had terrible diarrhea, I knew. He caught the bug. I was angry. Here we are living by the beach and we can't get out. I begged God to protect him. But … [Read more...]

He’s More Important Than Social Media

He's More Important than Social Media

We are in a new baby phase right now. The hold me all day phase or I will scream phase. Which is all good and well if we didn't have a life. The hubster and I are finding that getting things done is becoming difficult. This week our Princess had a terrible stomach flu. For 2 days she couldn't hold anything down. Not even water. Our heart was breaking for her. She is such a good sick patient too, never complaining, crying or negative! So a baby phase and a stomach flu in one house has been … [Read more...]

Mother Daughter Dates

January 29, 2013 By LaVonne

Inspired by our time alone last week, and our "girl's night". I decided to search the web for more mother daughter date ideas. I have found that with the addition of a brother to our family, my Princess can often feel left out. Babies, by nature, get a lot of attention. They need it. But, that means that my precious 5 year old girl is getting less attention than she used to. Special time with mommy is important. It is a way for us to reconnect and visit and just have fun. 10 Mother Daughter … [Read more...]

Girl’s Night In: Mini Strawberry Pie

January 25, 2013 By LaVonne

My husband was out of town this week. I was home with our two children for 3 1/2 days. Wow! I have so much respect for single moms. Being home alone with my kids was a lot harder than I expected it. The perk about my husband's job is he is home with us, and we go to work with him. We support each other. So since my husband was gone, my Princess and I decided to have a girl's night. Ever since we had girl's day in Iowa last year, my Princess loves doing girl's night when we are home alone. … [Read more...]
