I participated in an Influencer Activation Program on behalf of Influence-Central for Virgin Mobile. I received a sample device to facilitate my review and a thank you item for participating. My daughter has been begging me for a cell phone since last Christmas. She is convinced her seven year old cousin has her own cell phone. So if she has one, why can't my daughter? You've heard those arguments before, right? But here's the kicker - my daughter is only six years old. She wants a cell … [Read more...]
Addressing ADHD the Natural Way
If your child suffers from ADHD, you probably already know the negative impact this condition can have on development, relationships and academic performance. The most common treatment is stimulant drugs, as they have a lot of research behind them. They can be effective for sure, but many parents find they leave something to be desired, and are interested in pursuing complementary treatments for maximum symptom control. Here are just a few strategies that may be worth experimenting … [Read more...]
Living is messy, isn’t it?
Having a family, young children, and an active life - well, living is messy, isn't it? Now that I'm homeschooling 1st grade, parenting a toddler, doing my best to cook healthy meals, being a soccer mom - not only is life busy but the home gets messy. It can't be helped. Of course, it can be cleaned but it will just get messy again and again. But that's okay with me. I'll do the dishes, pick up the toys, and bathe kids daily and know that my life is full. Happy. Are you thankful for your happy … [Read more...]
Potty Training? You Need to Check This Out
This is a sponsored post for Pull-Ups. I received samples for this review and a promotional item to thank me for participating. So my Little Man is 28 months old and we are potty training. We still have a ways to go, but he is doing good. If I stay consistent each day with this, he does quite well. Plus, he is starting to tell me when we are out and about when he has to go. That is a big plus. Potty training is a hard job isn't it? Maybe some kids have an easy time with it, but it has … [Read more...]
10 Things You Should Do When Your Baby is Sleeping
I have two kids. Neither of them slept well on their own the first two years of their life. I made the choice to breastfeed them to sleep and they never could just fall asleep on their own. We co-slept as well so their sleep habits were started from day one. Here's what our equation looked like Mommy + Breastmilk = Sleep. Some days it was great. Most days it was difficult. But it went by pretty fast and I don't regret it. I'm crazy like that. You know how they say, "Moms nap when your baby … [Read more...]
Six Tips to Brush Toddler Teeth
My daughter was such an easy toddler. I didn't realize it until I now have a very unruly toddler. My patience is tested daily and I daily fail at being a patient parent. Nothing comes easy with this Little Man - including brushing his teeth. To be honest, when we force him he sometimes just cries. But when he cries with his mouth wide open, we don't mind, because then we can brush all his teeth more easily. Terrible, right? We have talked to the dental hygienist and dentist and we are … [Read more...]
I don’t print pictures, I share them. Digital safety is important.
How was your summer? We had such a great summer. I have hundreds of pictures on my external hard drive and of course on the blog and my social media channels to prove it. But I don't print pictures out anymore, I share them. Which means digital safety is important. Do you print you photos still? We went camping in June, to Welk Resort San Diego in July, the Oregon coast in August, and in a little over a week we'll spend 9 days in Hawaii. We have such great travel experiences. I am so … [Read more...]
