Kindergarten Homeschool Resources

Kindergarten Homeschool Resources

Last week, my Princess and I had a 100 Days of School party. (You'll see the photos of our fun day soon!) We've completed 100 days of Kindergarten Homeschool! I know, we are little behind. But the great thing about homeschooling is that you can just keep going as long into the summer as necessary. Plus, my Princess actually loves school time so summer school sounds like fun to her. (Me? Well, I do what I need to do!} I might start having school a couple Sundays per month to catch up a bit. … [Read more...]

Ideas to Keep a Toddler Busy While Homeschooling

Homeschooling my daughter in Kindergarten is difficult with a 21 month old active boy. Most days it is overwhelming. My son wants to be included in school. He disrupts us. He wants to be fed breast milk. He climbs up on his sister's desk to sit with her. So it is time for a change. I need to be doing something with him at the same time so my Princess and I can more easily focus on our Kindergarten homeschool work. {Praise the Lord for the internet. I needed ideas!} I found six great articles on … [Read more...]

Ocean Themed Lessons and Activities

March 13, 2014 By LaVonne

In our Social Studies class we learned a little about Oceans. My Princess loves Math but disliked Social Studies. This quarter we are doing Science, which is her new favorite class. Thankfully, I have the internet (a homeschooler's best friend!) to help find fun ways to learn about the Ocean. 10 Ocean Themed Lessons and Activities: Homeschool Share has compiled ocean themed lessons by level. There is also printables, games and library list. Disney's Finding Nemo offers games, … [Read more...]

Our Kindergarten Homeschool Routine

Our Kindergarten Homeschool Routine

I participated in an Influencer Program on behalf of Mom Central for Nutri-Grain. I received product samples and promotional item to thank me for participating. Now that I am homeschooling my Kindergartner, my mornings have become a bit more rushed than I'd like. To be honest, I don't have time for a large breakfast. I have not ever been a big breakfast as a meal fan but the last few years I have realized the importance of eating something healthy in the morning {even if it is … [Read more...]

Early Learning Your Child Will Love

This post brought to you by K12, the leader in online education. All opinions are 100% mine. Have you thought about teaching your preschool age child from home? We did two years of preschool at home with my Princess and she loved it. In fact, we will be doing the same thing with our Little Man. Now that I know about EmbarK¹² I am even excited about early learning! Have you heard of EmbarK12 Comprehensive- Online and hands-on preschool program for your early learner. About … [Read more...]

Kindergarten Homeschool: Psalm 100 Activities

February 15, 2014 By LaVonne

This week in Kindergarten Homeschool we are learning to memorize Psalm 100 in Bible class. We are doing the A Beka program this year with the Princess and she is loving it. So am I, actually. Everything is so well done and written out for me. I don't have to wonder what I am doing at all. Psalm 100 {A psalm. For giving grateful praise.} 1 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. 2 Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. 3 Know that the Lord is God. It is he who … [Read more...]

Family Game Night on the Road

February 9, 2014 By LaVonne

When we travel to other states we generally fly and rent a vehicle. The travel time is greatly reduced from Seattle and it is much easier with two young kids. I mean, really, who loves traveling in a van for a few days with young children? Not me, that's for sure. But the downside to that kind of travel is we are limited to our suitcases. For this trip to Baton Rouge we brought 3 large suitcases and 1 garment bag. We have mastered the art of packing light. Besides about 6 outfits each, we … [Read more...]
