Hoping that a fresh start and a new life will restore their family spirit, Mee quits his job and buys an old rural house outside the city with a unique bonus feature: a zoo named the Rosemoor Animal Park, where dozens of animals reside under the care of head zookeeper Kelly Foster (Johansson) and her dedicated team. … [Read more...]

Real Christianity

March 3, 2012 By LaVonne

When you visit Amazon, you can find thousands of free Kindle books. I am thankful that many of these Kindle freebies are Christian books. I have added many of these Kindle books to my cell phone, so when I am sitting somewhere, I can easily open my Kindle app and read great books. You can also get an app for your computer, iPod, and more. This week I started a book, Buck Naked Faith, by Eric Sandras, that has resonated with me. I have been under conviction about my character flaws, and … [Read more...]

Winter Weather

February 14, 2012 By LaVonne

We are in a new state. We left New Orleans, and 70+ degree weather and headed to Iowa. Wow! What a big weather difference. When it is 7 degrees with the wind chill - that is cold. The last couple days have been warm here though - above 30 degrees. When the wind dies down that has begun to feel much warmer. While we were in New Orleans, my Princess made the comment that it didn't feel like winter. We told her not to worry because we'd get 'winter' in Iowa during the month of February. So imagine … [Read more...]

Constantly, every day?I know, I need to rely on God and … [Read more...]

The Highlights of 2011

December 31, 2011 By LaVonne

January: I just got a new sewing machine and tried my hardest to make a quilted hot pad. Plus, I was inspired by Valentine's Day Subway Art and Cards. Our first destination of 2011: British Columbia, Canada.February: We got on a juicing kick after watching a documentary and have not stopped since. We also had our van broken into and learned to trust God. Our next destination: Northern California. (Have you seen the Redwoods?)March: My Princess made Gingerbread Bunny Cookies and got her first … [Read more...]

Pregnant!

October 14, 2011 By LaVonne

Yes, we wanted to have a baby in June 2012 and it looks like God has answered our prayers. I am due the first week of June!God is so good.We travel so much, we have to plan a baby around our already scheduled 2012 seminars. So pray for us as we travel back down this road. {Hopefully better equipped to deal with a newborn than we were with our Princess!}To tell you the truth, I am still quite terrified of having a newborn and a rambunctious preschooler in the house.Of course, my Princess is very … [Read more...]
